What's your favorite room in your city/commune?

Since most of us don't exactly go on tours of other nations, I suspect there's a lot of good writing out there that gets overlooked. My favorite room is a tossup  between two:

A panoramic view of the City.Brass, bronze, and iron bells of tremendous girth fill the entire length and breadth of this very constricted room. A magnificent view of Magnagora may be obtained by peering over the skulls of various stone gargoyles that cast watchful eyes in every direction over the city. A little to the south, the Great Southern Highway meanders away past the City Gates. To the east, a multitude of citizens can be seen assembled at the Atropos Plaza and spreading out directly to the west is the Necropolis. A wooden ladder is affixed to one wall, offering an unsteady exit below. Hanging down from the ceiling, a bell made out of solid bronze is here. (v4319)

because of how the ghosts in it always come up and ring the bell every midnight - it's a really cool ambient.

And!

The Hall of the Sacrificed God.Whispers in a thousand dissonant voices, each starkly dissimilar, carry hauntingly on the air from a healing shrine of Morgfyre nearby. The Goddess Isune, Wings of Compassion stands humbled here in a statue so perfect and detailed as to appear lifelike, the only telling sign that it is completely devoid of colour. She stands shackled, bound in heavy chains of cold iron, while thorned vines pull Her left arm towards the ground and pierce the tender stone flesh. Numerous angels form a vicious throng around her, some frozen while slashing at the Goddess with longswords, and others binding Her shackles to the sphere of Tipheret on the ground or carrying more chains for their masters. All of their faces sneer cruelly at the Goddess, while Her right arm is outstretched above her, fingers grasping at the open air. Above, a pure obsidian statue of a winged and beautiful demon floats upside down from the darkness, his arm mercifully stretched towards Isune in response, yet several feet out of reach. (v10101)

because of how it shows how *good* Magnagora thinks it is, and I love the 'we're righteous and you're just pretending to be' angle in my RP.

  • Some of my favorites in Hallifax:

A crystalline overlook of the skies.
This balcony juts straight out into the expansive sky and is enveloped by gentle breezes and zephyrs. Crafted solely out of lambent crystal, the structure is multi-faceted, refracting rainbows and stars within the cold stone. Birds have nested between the gemstone rails, the tiny beds composed of odd-and-ends like metallic wires and jewel shavings. Cottony wisps of cloud drift languidly through azure skyline, peppering the blue with motes of fluffy whiteness. The dull monotone of the city drifts in like the slow movements of the clouds; meanwhile the air is imbued with a frigid temperature.

This balcony is a lovely setting for almost anything.

Grand hall of the Shevat Gallery.
The walls are solid panes of pale, frosted beryl that run three quarters of the way toward the ceiling before yielding to high, crystal clear windows. Shafts of light descend to strike the polished umber floor giving the bright main hall of the gallery a warm, golden glow. An artwork in its own right, the floor is composed of individual shards of the tawny crystal fitted seamlessly together in a broad spiral reaching out from the center of the room. A wide center aisle is lined on the right by a series of tall crystalline sculptures, spaced like pillars down the length of the hall. Crafted in glittering orange, yellow, gold, and even blue, each resembles a swathe of fire, flames licking towards the ceiling. On the left a similarly spaced row of intricately wrought wind chimes drop from above, myriad hollow shapes of varying lengths nearly brushing the floor. A large fountain at the far end of the hall lends the soothing sound of flowing water as the steady stream trickles over the smooth blocks of frosted crystal. Just past the fountain, a wide spiral staircase twists upwards towards the studios above.

Pretty much all the artists' galleries in Hallifax are beautiful, but this one and the Silverplume gallery are my favorites.

Ruby Research Project - Lab B.
Glimmering ruby comprises this laboratory, the few mars and scratches difficult to discern amidst the faceted gemstones. On one of the tables rests a ruby cube suspended above a crystal base. It rotates freely in place with each face emitting a beam of scarlet light that serve as the primary source of illumination in the room. Periodically a beam will fall on the spiral staircase in the southwest corner.

Rotating gemstone cube, woo science and technology!
Avatar created by the amazing Feyrll.
  • Metal wire and jewel bird nests. That's great.

Mine is a tie between: (and I still think it would be more fitting to have a statue of Lady Sarye here with the memorial)

    1.
    At the merian maritime memorial.
This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. There is a light drizzle of rain. Here
on the corner, overlooking the harbour and the sea is a flat, unadorned plaza with one remarkable
feature. The ten foot tall statue of the merian sailor stands firmly in place, with a sculpted
lantern held high in one hand and the other hand shading his eyes as he gazes out to sea. Upon
closer inspection, the stout sailor is entirely covered with text, from top to toe, chiseled onto
his stony frame. A larger text is scribed into the base on which he stands. South of the plaza, the
harbour area is bordered by the southern Voluta Diadema Tower, which in turn is buttressed by the
solid city wall, which stretches southward around the city. The old seaman of the Merian Maritime
Memorial beckons lost comrades home. A statue of Elohora, Lady of the Eternal Light stands here,
memorializing her noble spirit. Looking for bits of food, a white albatross walks about here.
You see exits leading south and northwest.

You read what is written on the memorial statue:
On the base is written "In memory of those lost at sea." In a much smaller script, names of merians
lost at sea cover the remainder of the surface. "Sharik Mori   Pollus Widewater   Moriah Qualmen...".
The list of small names goes on and on.

    2.
This one suggested by Talkan in our guildhall:
    Night-
    The Hall of Cosmos.
Pale alabaster statues support the domed ceiling above, their backs to the smooth stone walls. Each
statue has been carved with the likeness of a celestial merian, their elegant, aquatic features
captured in exquisite detail, their wings variously stretched out behind them or huddled close to
their back as they use both hands to support the ceiling. The ceiling above the Hall of Cosmos
shimmers and sparkles with the night sky, an infinite pinpricks of light sparkling and dancing in
the darkness of the light of the First World. Everything about the chamber has been likewise painted
in starlight, as the row of statues slowly move towards the southern wall, where a magnificent mural
depicts a winged merian rising up from turbid, storm-tossed seas, reaching towards the stars above.
Each of his platinum scales glitter in the starlit chamber, reflecting the light back to add to the
dim luminescence that fills the Hall of Cosmos.

The first rays of sunlight begin to break across the ceiling above, before quickly chasing away the
dark night and dwarfing the stars, a topaz luminescence enveloping the Hall of Cosmos.

    Predawn-
Pale alabaster statues support the domed ceiling above, their backs to the smooth stone walls. Each
statue has been carved with the likeness of a celestial merian, their elegant, aquatic features
captured in exquisite detail, their wings variously stretched out behind them or huddled close to
their back as they use both hands to support the ceiling. The ceiling above the Hall of Cosmos glows
with the warm, pre-dawn light of the First World, casting the chamber in a preternatural
illumination and the sky above with a calming, topaz light. Everything about the chamber has been
likewise coloured in the light, as the row of statues slowly move towards the southern wall, where a
magnificent mural depicts a winged merian rising up from turbid, storm-tossed seas, reaching towards
the stars above. Each of his platinum scales glow in the dawnlit chamber, reflecting the light back
to add to the illumination that fills the Hall of Cosmos.

Brilliant rays of sunlight burn warmly at the eastern edge of the ceiling as the sun slowly begins
to make its ascent through the sky, a flash of cobalt light briefly illuminating the chamber before
    the sun's warmth takes hold.

    Early morning-
    The Hall of Cosmos.
The ceiling above the Hall of Cosmos casts
an early morning glow, the ceiling above painted with the orange and yellow clouds of the morning
sky of the First World. Everything about the chamber has been likewise painted in warm tones, each
of the statues glowing as beautifully as the next in line until they reach a magnificent mural. A
winged merian rising up from turbid, storm-tossed seas, reaching towards the stars above has been
beautifully rendered in paint and pressed with precious metals. Each of his platinum scales
positively glow a cobalt blue, sparkling in the light that fills the Hall of Cosmos.

As the sun nears its apex in the Supernal Sky above, a warm and dazzling radiance steals into the
chamber, lighting up the statues and mural while burning away any lingering shadows.

    Noon-
    The Hall of Cosmos.
The ceiling above the Hall of Cosmos
radiates with the noontime sun, a glowing orb of white and gold in the centre of the ceiling,
illuminating the entirety of the chamber in a glorious display of light and warmth that rivals the
beauty of even the golden shores of the Isle of Light. Each statue appears to veritably glow with
the same radiant warmth, their wings, clothing and skin appearing a dazzling shade of pale gold,
nearly white. At the southern end of the chamber a magnificent mural depicts a winged merian rising
up from turbid, storm-tossed seas, reaching towards the stars above. Each of his platinum scales
glows a brilliant white, the whole of his form and shape glowing beautifully within the warm and all-
encompassing light that burns away any shadow.

As the sun continues its travel across the ceiling, the sky itself seems to blaze with white as
clouds pass beside the sun, the whole of the chamber bellowing with welcoming, white light.

    early afternoon-
    The Hall of Cosmos.
The ceiling above the Hall of Cosmos
blazes a brilliant shade of white, the sun having crossed into the early afternoon, its warm and
pure light beating down in a heat that does not burn but instead soothes and encourages. Everything
about the chamber has been likewise painted in the bellowing sunlight, each statue appearing to
blaze with a fiery aura, reaching from statue to statue until they cease before a magnificent mural
depicting a winged merian rising up from turbid, storm-tossed seas, reaching towards the stars above.
The whole of the celestial merian's form positively glows, his form nearly blinding in the dazzling
luminescence cast about the Hall of Cosmos.

Pink and orange clouds begin to steal across the Supernal Sky as the sun begins to set, the light
itself beginning to change to shades of pink, orange and a soft rose.

    Sunset-
    The Hall of Cosmos.
The ceiling above the Hall of Cosmos has
cooled and calmed, pink and orange tufts of clouds lazily drifting across the ceiling as they cover
the now setting sun, casting a rose-tinted light across the chamber. The whole of the Hall
positively glows in the rapturous pink light, each of the statues appearing less proud and more warm
and welcoming, a peaceful air lingering about both them and the mural which they lead to. A winged
merian rising up from turbid, storm-tossed seas, reaching towards the stars above, the subject's
scales reflect back the shades of pink and orange of the Supernal Sky, glittering with the peaceful
benevolence that Raziela, the Loving Radiance is most known for. On the eastern side of the ceiling
the first hints of the coming night begin to manifest, yet remain pale and partially lit by the
    setting sun.

As the last of the dusk light fades, a cool, peaceful night sky twinkles above, an infinite number
of stars winking into existence before winking back out once more.

(starts over with the first description here)

    3.
    And this one:
(because I suggested it and Eventru liked the idea enough to create it in my guildhall)

The Baptistery of the Sacred Light.
Perched upon a balcony within the Deep Blue Cathedral, the Baptistery of the Sacred Light is lined
on one side by the smooth walls native to the Cathedral, beautifully decorated with large stained
glass windows, each depicting a different supernal - Raziela upon a vibrant field of daisies,
clutching one in particular against her chest, a smile upon her face. Methrenton stands upon a
glorious field, the nondescript forms of celestial angels arrayed behind him in formation, as though
marching behind the golden supernal to a great battle. Elohora, the Lady of Eternal Light stands in
the centre, her radiant form placed against a backdrop of varying white glass, her arms stretched
upwards, reaching and embracing the brightest portion of the light. Next comes Shakiniel, her cobalt
shield held protectively before her, the like-tinged forms of merian children huddled behind her.
The farthest right of the windows bears the wise and knowing form of Japhiel, the Holy Libram in one
arm while he wields a dark wooden gavel in the other, his gaze set upon the scene below. Resting
quietly at the eastern edge of the azure waters, a coral brazier is here, its flames extinguished.
Resting quietly at the southeastern edge of the azure waters, a coral brazier is here, its flames
extinguished. Resting quietly at the western edge of the azure waters, a coral brazier is here, its
flames extinguished. Resting quietly at the northern edge of the azure waters, a coral brazier is
here, its flames extinguished. Its depths cold and pure, a pool of clear water has been sunken into
the heart of the baptistery here. White robes clinging to her lithe figure, Jarana Farain stands
here, her fins rising and falling gracefully. Resting quietly at the southwestern edge of the azure
waters, a coral brazier is here, its flames extinguished. A sigil in the shape of a small,
rectangular monolith is on the ground.
    There are no obvious exits.

    The pool:
Sinking deep into the pale marble of the baptistery, its waters clear and cold, this pool's waters
lave gently against the elegant white-gold rim, shaped into a rim of soft ocean swells. The depths,
deep enough to submerge the average person up to the breast, have been left as pale stone, dark
wisps lending an exotic appeal when the light sprays the bottom in a cascade of radiance. Small
ripples race across the surface, lapping gently over one another as they quickly begin to fade soon
    after forming.
    It is strangely weightless.

Going into the Baptistery of the Sacred Light:

You brush your fingertips along the surface of the mural, trailing the ascent of Saint Tresalyne of
the Stars. As your hand brushes across his a radiant light envelops your vision, and a warmth wraps
about your hand. A soft smile crosses the lips of the Saint as he draws you in, everything fading
out in the face of the blinding glow. As your sight returns, you find yourself in a place of marble
and coral, a cold and pure pool before you.

Coming out of the Baptistery of the Sacred Light:

You brush your fingertips along the surface of the mural, allowing your touch to move from Raziela
to Methrenton and then Japhiel, before moving upwards towards Shakiniel. As your hand finally moves
in to touch Elohora, the Lady of Eternal Light, you feel the mural give way beneath your touch, the
Lady's light enveloping you completely. As your vision returns, you find yourself in the Hall of
Cosmos, the roof above you mimicking an elegant and beautiful sky.

    In the Institute guild tower:

    The Observatory of Aethereal Astrophysics.
One or two light fluffy clouds drift lazily through the sky. This gargantuan opaque crystal platform is suspended high in the air around the city of Hallifax, providing the most dazzling and unobstructed view of the firmament in Lusternia. Unlike the floor, the walls and ceiling have been constructed from solid air, so as not to interfere with the study of astrophysics while keeping out the strong winds that blow at this altitude. A gigantic crystal telescope fills the centre of the large observatory, possibly the largest mortal-built to be found within the multiverse. Built into the design of the observatory, a massive crystal astrolabe pivots slowly around its axle, following the movement of the sky. A sigil in the shape of a small, rectangular monolith is on the ground.

    bonus desc.:

    "astrolabe16814"                        an enormous crystal astrolabe

Crafted from a beautiful opaque yellow crystal, this massive astrolabe encompasses the entire expanse of the observatory of unidimensional astrophysics. Several large crystal rings arc through the chamber in varying angles, providing clear measurement options for every part of the sky. Countless markings along the rings and floor provide unheard-of accuracy in determining the position of the astral bodies, making this apparatus unchallenged in its usefulness for studying astrophysics.
    It weighs about 3000 pounds.

Everiine said: The reason population is low isn't because there are too many orgs. It's because so many facets of the game are outright broken and protected by those who benefit from it being that way. An overabundance of gimmicks (including game-breaking ones), artifacts that destroy any concept of balance, blatant pay-to-win features, and an obsession with convenience that makes few things actually worthwhile all contribute to the game's sad decline.

    Walking on sunshiny crystal.
As the ascent continues, the marble and onyx construction have been replaced, showcasing a new set of stairs. Rich gold filigree decorates a summery, luminous crystal that forms both the steps and risers. The tiled landing-platform has been buffed with a matte finish, heavily embellished with a mess of precious gemstones. Corridors lead off from the platform to long hallways and present an elaborate plaque upon one of their walls, reading: Bureaucratic Elite.

    Under the bridge.
The swift river runs underneath a stone bridge from east to southwest. The bridge itself has been constructed from many grey rocks, now coated in a layer of dank slime and moss. Drips fall constantly from above, splashing down into the river below with great ripples. Although it is dark beneath the structure, it is still possible to make out carvings and etchings on the bricks. Some are faded names and dates, no longer legible; others are swirling spiral patterns and detailed pictures.

    Lots of storyboard potential here.

This one I love for the super creepy factor:

A silent tomb strung with coloured silk and lace.
Brightly-coloured and joyously decorated, very little in this room lends credence to the structure in which it resides. Azure and emerald silks drape haphazardly across the walls, obscuring white marble from sight, while pristine white linen runners anoint the low stone dais at the back of the room, embellished with delicate lacework. Numerous china dolls are arranged neatly upon this; male and female, large and small, garbed in every possible variety of dress, the toys bear one similarity alone: disturbingly realistic eyes gaze unflinchingly in every direction, black pupils dilated as though drinking in their surroundings. A scant few heirlooms have been hastily allocated to one corner of the room, the symbol of a flying kestrel visible on a tarnished golden goblet. Several limp rag dolls are scattered on the floor about the dais, wide, stitched grins baring amusement at no one in particular, limbs contorted into impossible configurations.

I feel like I should contribute. So, I give you the best room in Hallifax, the one that really emphasizes the totalitarian state over the regencyish intelligentsia aspects.

    Corrections Institute.
Banks of clouds roil about here. Borne out of solid moonstone, this chamber is impeccably white and
is drowned in the sound of a dull monotone beep. No further ornamentation decorates the walls or
floor, instead showcasing only the raw, whiteness of the crystal. Two diamond-clear tables, fitted
with multiple white-painted chairs, stand within the room and are also left to their naked
simplicity. A sterile scent overwhelms the unpolluted air, a disquieting odour similar to alcohol
and gauze. Hanging from the ceiling is a silvery candelabra, martial and simplistic in design, which
brightens the already intensely-lit room. Pressed against one wall is a featureless cupboard: open
wide and baring an assortment of cruel and strange instruments hidden within it. The fragrant Lafu
Longplume waits here, bulging bags tied into his cloak.
Any sufficiently advanced pun is indistinguishable from comedy.

He literally wants to have stage babies with it, and has petitioned Gaudiguch many times on working how to anthropomorphise the stage so this is possible (Not really).

Seeing it reminds him of the first great thing he did for the forest, and subsequent accomplishments. It also helped him find his place, goal and destiny in Glomdoring so the stage has a major importance to him in all ways.

A gentle breeze whistles around you. A steep slope leads down from the west into this small,
sheltered bay. Scattered stones form the ground, obviously brought here by the river that curves

In spite of the numerous additions Celest has seen, I feel like the Post Office itself is an old standby. It's like a sepia photograph in some ways, but...

    New Celest Postal Service.
The floor of the lobby is an almost indefinable greyish brown. At the counter, everything has the dull grey luster of being at least fifty years old, and anonymous in form. From the scratched, vaguely translucent glass bowl for wetting stamps, to the stacks of outdated forms, everything seems grey, sticky, sun-faded, or unused. Through
a small window, can be seen rows and rows of carrier pigeons in small cubbyholes, and disgruntled pelicans waddling back and forth, their beaks brimming with parcels. A dark brown leather chair stands here invitingly. A graceful desk of rich, dark wood stands here. A portrait of Pally the Pelican, the postal mascot, hangs near the service counter.

Pally is a cartoon caricature. He looks exceedingly exuberant, and has a package in his smiling beak. A poem covers the lower half of the poster, in a festive script.
    It weighs about 18 pounds.

You read what is written on a portrait of Pally the Pelican:
A wonderful postman is the pelican! He holds post in his beak to deliver all
week, and I don't see how in the hellican!

    Sorry.

The Grand Hall of the Dark Heart.
The shadowy outline of a twisted forest casts a dark gloom here. Gargantuan pillars carved with stylized musical notes and instruments stretch upwards, disappearing in the darkness high above the floor of the massive room. Attached to the pillars are flickering torches that provide some light to the hall. The great room stretches out into the distance, like an endless sea of dark stone, until it reaches the great stage. Large veins of quartz run across the walls of the room like the web of a great spider, lighting the room with the dim glow of refracted torch light. Looming high above the hall is the Grand Chandelier, a crystalline representation of the Master Ravenwood tree. Torchlight within the chandelier makes the leaves of the Master Tree glow in a somber, blood-red tone. There are 2 indoor benches of twisting vines and tree trunks here.

I like the pillars. Gives it a sort of 'forestal ruins' feel.

  • Designed by @Chakraja and Saroha! (both the room and the chandelier!) for the Festival's Oceanic Ball!

    The Celestial Sea Ballroom.
This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. This grandiose ballroom is wreathed in pearlescent walls that soar high overhead to support a resplendent, glass-tiled dome panelled with crystal-clear windows, allowing an unobstructed view of Celest's empyrean skies. A ring of five slender, glistening coral columns upholds the dome overhead, sculpted into the silhouettes of the Holy Supernals of Celestia, offering blessings upon all who pass beneath their auspices. Limned in silver, several clerestory windows of stained glass line the upper walls, portraying the luminous figures of seraphic angels, towering archangels, radiant devas, and rosy cherubs outlined against sunny azure skies. Nine lively fountains of cascading tiers, each sculpted as a representation of the seaside city's beacons, lie close to the walls in fanciful sprays and tricklings of crystalline water; inset with polished sea glass, the raised edges of their basins provide a comfortable place for ball-goers to rest and converse. The dance floor is wrought of milky alabaster, inlaid with beautiful, translucent panels of pale green sea glass that create a many-rayed replica of the Star of Celest. Through the panels, the rippling Inner Sea waters can be seen, the silvered and golden flickers of fish and other marine creatures flashing in and out of sight as they traverse a colourful underwater garden, filled with sea anemone, coral, and seaweed beds. An elegant chandelier of mother-of-pearl hangs suspended from the centre of the room, dripping in nacreous tiers of light.

    an iridescent chandelier of mother-of-pearl:
Its graceful tiers as a whole manifesting in the shape of a globe, this extravagant chandelier resembles a large, iridescent pearl in structure, glimmers of white effulgence emanating from its centre betwixt the ornaments that bedeck its every level. Thin, circular discs of lustrous mother-of-pearl hang suspended from each silver-wrought tier, their nacreous veneers catching the steadfast lambency of the candles set within and refracting in prismatic, luminous sprays. Twirling whimsically upon their wires with the passing air currents, these colourful adornments hail from all manner of seashells: abalone, pearl oyster, snail, mussel, and capiz. No two discs are the same, some translucent where others are opaque, each possessing its own singularly iridescent coating, imbued with pale nuances of seafoam, lavender, and rose. Resplendent with light and sea-born hues, this chandelier is a vision of oceanic loveliness, shining with the cool gleam of the distant stars against the ever-shifting tides.

    It weighs about 65 pounds.

  • Actually, the Megalith itself is my favourite room :D

    Centre of the Necropolis.
It is difficult to detect any features of the room, due to the powerful field of energy that is put out by the Megalith of Doom, absorbing all but the darkest of colours and dominating everything else in the room. The architecture of the room is designed to accommodate the Megalith of Doom with a high dome that forms the entire ceiling. A circular series of steps descends three tiers down to the indentation in the centre of the room where the Megalith stands. Four archways lead out of the room to the other areas of the Necropolis, where candles and other illumination can barely be detected through the powerful force of the Megalith.

But I do love these too!

    Heart of the Cacophony.
Polished black marble has been used for this office, the walls smooth and undecorated. The floor bears an intricate maze worked over the entirety of it, the lines seemingly distorted to the eyes. At the center of this labyrinth lies a water filled depression, steam rising from the surface. The high ceiling is a true work of art, the stone above echoing the maze below, the lines forming a tangled mess of briar vine. From between the carved branches peer small faces, some serene, some bearing malevolent leers. A few select tendrils have been cunningly worked to flow across the entire ceiling and down the walls to form the door and window frames. Heavy velvet drapes in azure cover each of these arches, blocking outside illumination. A dim glow lights the room, coming from the several matching candelabra standing against the walls.

    Soul of the Cacophony.
Dark, rich wooden paneling lies smoothly across the floor. A lush rug has been thrown down in the middle of the room upon which rests an elegant desk and high-backed office chair. Multiple shelves line the walls along with cabinets and smaller tables which hold red-glowing lanterns to illuminate the room. A spider-webbed pattern of silver and red crosses the high ceiling, merging at the very center to explode into a flaming orb that hovers there, giving off more light across the room below it. Expensive instruments are set off to one side while books and paperwork are set against the other. A low mist swirls throughout the lower half of this office, creating a mysterious atmosphere while also not obstructing one from seeing clearly. The office was constructed in such a way to be elegant yet comfortable, its thick walls allowing the guildmaster to work without the interruptions of hearing bards practicing or yelling in other rooms.

    Strength of the Cacophony.
The exotic odour of spices and cinnamon hangs heavily in the air of this elegant office. Swirling golden symbols have been painstakingly etched into the murky obsidian walls, a maddeningly complex array of notes laid out in almost random order. Maps of the Basin hang in mahogany frames, various battle plans scrawled hastily on the protective glass casing. The floor is composed of blood-red mahogany, the supple wood uttering harsh moans of protest as individuals move about the room. The sole source of illumination is a glowing orange orb, suspended from the ceiling by a chain of platinum links. Discordant voices emanate from the crystal orb, filling the entire office with a vaguely unsettling murmur.

    The Chamber of Many Thoughts.
Massive sandstone walls, smoothed down to a fine finish, climb high into the reaches of the Great Pyramid above, terminating into the stone slabs which surmise the outside of the structure. Elegant scrawls in rich crimson ink line the walls, organised neatly yet of immiscible and distinct thoughts and ideas. The floor is of the same dark granite, etched with circular patterns and seemingly random swirls, merging with the square track around the outside which is flooded with a stream of crackling fire. The air crackles with thought and activity; a thrum of whispering voices lingers on the edge of audible sound as they converse in a rabble of sibilant tongues.

    A glade of shifting shadows.
Here a natural circle of trees grow strong and proud overhead, their interwoven branches a web before the sky above. A curious phosphorescent moss creeps up the trunks and low branches of these trees, and the ground as well is speckled with tiny luminescent mushrooms, pinpoints of soft white light reminiscent of wildflowers in any other copse. The dull bluish green glow cast by the fungus is joined by the heavy seeping shadow which accompanies any amount of light. The spindly shadows creep and shift across the ground, swaying and shuddering with the branches above, dipping at intervals into deeper pools of coal black, brushing across the ground and tree trunks. In the centre of the glade a large round orb of stone has been placed, the cold grey surface under the perpetual caress of shadow.

Also, because it's always winter here (Rancoura's favourite time of the year):

    Stark winter woods.
A biting wind whistles through the bare canopy, sending a few withered leaves on lazy downward swirls to pile upon the handful already littered on the ground. Hard frost glazes the roots of trees, extending chilly white tendrils up their bark. Icy patches bloom like flowers on the dark surface of the soil, frozen stiff underfoot. High above, an empty nest clings to the denuded branches, which creak woefully in the breeze. The air is oppressive, the cold paralysing, the woods here lethargic and still.

And... oh gods, so many more. Glomdoring is beautiful.

    Tonight amidst the mountaintops
    And endless starless night
Singing how the wind was lost
    Before an earthly flight
