Magic vs Elemental Damage

So this is something that's always kind of went over my head. What's the difference between magic-sourced and fire/cold/electricity-sourced damage? Is there any?

Does the game's math calculate magic damage and elemental damage buffs when you do an elemental attack (e.g. will you have a stronger point cudgel lightningbugs if you have 10 magic damage buff and 10 electricity buff...or would it be the same damage if you just had the 10 electricity damage buff).

If the former is the case, do any other damage types factor in magic buff/dmp? The only ones besides the elemental trio I could imagine would be divinus/excorable.

  • Things the admins should do: Rename the magic damage type to mystic.
  • EnyalidaEnyalida Nasty Woman, Sockpuppeteer to the Gods
Except that mages != mystic. Sorcerous, perhaps?
  • Kinda prefer the sound of arcane

Though could we also get like... spirit or something while we're at it? Feels like it would fit serenwilde somewhat. :P
  • I don't care what they call it. Magic is the only word that's used for both a type and a source. Changing one in the documentation would make things so much more clear.
