[Newbie]Didn't I already join a guild?

In Creating my charcter it asked me my race(I went with Faeling) and then asked me to pick a guild, I clicked on "Institute" because a faerie scientist sounded amusing/fun.
But after I started, I went looking up stuff for Newbies and find everyone saying that I need to join a guild?
How does that work?
And should I avoid the Institute if I'm a faeling?

  • CyndarinCyndarin used Flamethrower! It was super effective.
SCORE should tell you what guild you are in.

Plus there's this: Undergraduate Puriel (Male Faeling).

Which means you are a nublet in the institute.

Faeling is a good generic caster guild. There are "better" options as a researcher, I think, but it's not a bad choice. Especially with all the domoths on faelings right now. You'll be on the squishier side, especially at low levels, but you can influence really well.

Just don't call yourself a faerie in game, people will look at you like this

  • Oh, yeah, someone in the newbie channel mentioned we're half fae.

Faelings are half fae, yes. Lusternian fae aren't the typical "faeries." They come in many varieties. One has a pixie head on a goat body.

    Half elfen, half fae.

  • How do I set this to answered?
  • XenthosXenthos Shadow Lord
You can't, because it is not marked as a question.

  • Yes, I learned that right after I asked.
    But thank you.
