Newton Honours Quest changed - denizens not giving quest items now

I completed one of the Newton Honours Quests a week or so ago, but in trying to complete it again I've found that Momma Mia won't give the next item in the chain when given the item that triggers her to ask you to help her.  There used to be a prompt saying SAY YES or AGREE MIA or something like that, and that worked and she'd give you the thing.  Now it says:

Momma Mia says, "This gunk can only have been made by another fink matriarch. If
you know where she is, would you get her to make Gucka's Doom Jelly for me?"
 [*] Yes, I'll help you make Gucka's Doom Jelly!
 [*] No, I'd rather not get involved.

...and typing the entire 'Yes' line only gets a line about Granny Gucka, but no item to give to the next person in the chain.  Is the item no longer needed?  The hint system doesn't seem to think I'm doing it right, since it's not saying anything.  In Newton Caverns, GREETing Mucka gets her to offer you some quests, and the responses seem to work right there.

    I've been poking around it looks like every quest period was broken, in a fashion.

    The problem's been addressed, however. It should work!
