I'm looking for Laelio! Do you know her?

So over on Aetolia several years ago, there was an amazing artist who came around and started doing pieces for the playerbase. Her name was Laelio. She instantly gathered quite a following, and rightfully so. Her art was impressive. To this day my absolute favorite piece of work that is based on something from one of the IRE worlds was her portrait of Paris on Aetolia. And it wasn't even a color piece. I've never forgotten it.

Now I'm starting a new character on Achaea and there's nothing I want more than to throw some money at this lady and have her draw a piece for me. I was told she's a Lusternian player, so if any of you know her or know how I might get in touch with her, please direct me to her!

  • Bumping this for visibility.
  • Can you post an image they made? Maybe we will recognise the art style if not the name.
  • Do you mean Maellio? Not sure if they draw, but I can't remember any Laelios.

Laelio was an Aetolian character, not a Lusternian one.

  • The style reminds me Alger's.
    Hope it helps

  • Appreciate the intention to help me, but unfortunately I don't think that's her.
  • my google-fu turned this link up: http://www.deviantart.com/tag/laelio

I think she's your girl. Judging by her posts, she's gone inactive
  • Yeah actually the link to her Devart is http://sunflowerising.deviantart.com/ , and I've sent her a note on there hoping it has email notification.

Still, putting as many eggs into as many baskets as I can.

I don't know Laelio, but the style is extremely like @Feyrll's, both in the black and whites, and in the miniatures. (Also the fact that they both have these same types of work. If it is not the same person, one is surely being influenced by the other.) She's very talented. I regret that I never got a portrait done by her. Anyway, compare some of the black and whites you have above to the ones she did of Druken or Eliron. http://minileiproductions.deviantart.com/gallery/26494368/Lusternia-Commissions-2010

  • Across the internet, this type of 'style' tends to be more or less standard.

Pick another artist with reasonable rates?

if you really want to find her, I suggest you track down old Aetolia players she played with and ask them. It shouldn't be too hard, especially if they're still active. Ask on the aetolia forums.

That was the first thing I did, friend. They informed me she played Lusternia. :P
  • Tbh she probably isn't about anymore and has moved in to another mud or just stopped playing but there are plenty of other artists that might be willing to help you.
  • The art style is quite familiar but I suspect that's only because I admin the Lusternian group on deviant art. Feyrll does have a similar style. If you can catch her she may be willing to do something for you. Best of luck in finding your friend.
