IRE-wide Game Outage

edited October 2017 in Common Grounds
Hi folks,

Just letting you know we're aware of the issue. It's IRE-wide, and we're speaking to our provider to fix it. I'll update when we know anything.

EDIT: Before anybody asks, we have tried blowing into the cartridge. It didn't help.

  • Update:

Internal network is still down, so things may not function well. External is fine, but there seems to be issues with packet loss. We're still working on it. I tried bringing the game up, lowered it again to prevent issues. Will re-raise it when we get the all-clear.

  • Looks like the internal network is back up. I'm going to keep the game down for a few more minutes while things normalise. Achaea is a better test dummy than us anyway.

  • I have opened a playground environment at helm.ianir.ninja port 9876 - Feel free to get your fix there while we sort out the issues.

  • So, we're still down. Still waiting on updates. I have $5 that somebody tried to steal some copper. Hoping I lose that bet.

  • Did you try resetting it?
  • ..Well least that explains things. Was worried I got randomly IP banned :< Hope things get sorted soon!
  • Welp, we're still down. I've added a few new test server commands: TEST and GODSPIN. These will only ever function on the test server - the former does a bunch of stuff, the latter gives you a free coin to spin the (instant) wheel. Enjoy!

  • Still down, some minor updates but nothing fruitful. Oh, and my test server only lets 10 people on, so sorry to anybody trying to join who can't.

Did you try a warm wet compress to the affected area?

It's because so many facets of the game are outright broken and protected by those who benefit from it being that way. An overabundance of gimmicks (including game-breaking ones), artifacts that destroy any concept of balance, blatant pay-to-win features, and an obsession with convenience that makes few things actually worthwhile all contribute to the game's sad decline.
  • Maybe it's possessed.  Let's do a big ritual to get  It back up. I think maybe we need to use  salt ( For any  ritual) a smudge stick ( to get rid of the evil internet gremlins) and Viagra, to get the  server up

    Don’t forget 10,000 light/fire/dark/air/ethereal essence!
  • Just got an update from our ISP. Still down, they'll let us know when they know more. One of the games seems to have an internal network connection, but none of the other games do. We've all been told to keep things down until we get the all-clear by the IRE higher ups.

In the meantime, Imperian's players are recommending a downtime twitch stream. I'm going to go see if we can turn that into an IRE staff D&D session.

No update on our end, but it seems bad.  Still no word on internal network.

  • Have you tried turning it off and on again?

  • Try jiggling the port.
The cool night-time breeze shivers in the arid caress of the streets of the capital city, brushing the earthen taste of dust across your lips.

A blessed silence falls upon the city for the moment, most activity confined to the towers and the
theatre due to the snowy weather.

Pinprick points of light twinkle in the deep black overhead, their brightness full of a cold,
    hungering malice.

Things I learned on the test server:

Lyreth is a one handed weapon.

That east area of Fain's godrealm is empty and not well made.

    Tantus does asphyx damage.

So, there's a non-zero chance that I'm crazy, but I think some of my clans lost recent cltells (from maybe an hour or so before the crash, I don't have times and am going from memory here.) Assuming I didn't dream it all, should we be expecting any data loss or anything from this?
