I'm not against most of Shuyin's proposals, but I really do prefer the idea of more varied effects unlocked with wounding. A lot of flavour goes away with a static 10 aff model.
I think Ush's model also would benefit monk design…
After I graduated college, I got lazy and stopped wanting to think to do simple math. This behaviour has been enabled by always having my phone in hand.
Ah, my apologies. I think I'm following your proposal a little better now...Maybe tomorrow I'll make some mock ups in a system similar to what Ushaara suggested...
How do you feel about that specific way of handling afflictions though, @Estarra? Are you comfortable having what's essentially 10 affs as far as curing goes, but …
That does make curing much simpler, and allows us to have a much less restrictive range of affs and keep a very different feel for each spec. It would ultimately mean that we only have 10 afflictions for ice salve, but each affliction increa…
I see what you mean. So you're not thinking of afflictions as in the framework we're working with now, but rather effects directly tied to wound levels?
I quite like Ushaara's suggestion a lot. Things I like about it are:
o Wounds are separated into 'blunt wounds' and 'cutting wounds' so these two types of wounds don't cross-stack. In this way, a bonecrusher fighting in groups a…
But you will be restricted to damage types your guild has access to, and whatever the respective base damage amount is meant to be. Whips will still have their place.

One of the things I learned over the years is you shouldn't take these things personally. It's a good way to become angry and unhappy. It's only a game, and very little of it has lasting consequences. The best thing is, there's endless opp…
I might be biased in saying this, but I don't think making it simpler is a good idea. Right now, it's not overly complicated. It certainly has a learning curve, but that's a good thing. It has depth, and depth is good. I wouldn't want to see it ruin…
At the very least I think there's some value to keeping a blunt affliction similar to slit throat, and a leg affliction in each type that prevents standing...I'd rather legtendon and severnerve to severartery on the legs and arms respectively.
In regards to the ice comment, I figured that since we would need to make choices between curing afflictions and curing wounds on difference body parts, there's more opportunity to distract ice curing and build wounds easily. Maybe I'm wrong about t…
I’ll preface this post by stating my thoughts on current warrior mechanics and balance. As of now, I think certain warrior specializations are in a great state of balance. In fact, of all the archetypes in the game, I feel warriors are very close…

Tracking beast mana and ego is pretty necessary if you want to use your beast every balance. Thing is, regeneration is a bit of a pain to keep up with, especially with different modifiers.
