Brennan Gets New Threads (Finally)

Brennan Stormcrow fiddles with a loose thread that hangs from his tattered robes, unravelling a small square of the fabric as his twitchy hands work idly.

You ponder Brennan Stormcrow thoughtfully, looking him up and down.

You say to Brennan Stormcrow, "It's a wonder that you have any robes left, doing that."

His gaze flickering briefly upward, Brennan Stormcrow says, "You'd like that, wouldn't ya?"

You say, "Not particularly."

Brennan Stormcrow nods his head in a mockery of assuredness.

You say to Brennan Stormcrow, "Perhaps you need a new set of robes, that are not about to fall to pieces."

You have given up knowledge of Bookbinding for the time being.
You swell in pride as you choose to become a student of Tailoring.

Item: Robes  Type: Greatrobes  Org: Raventhread
Commodities: cloth 79 silk 20 leather 26
Mortal Reviews: Allowed
Layer: NORMAL Bodyparts: chest, gut, arms, legs, back, waist
IMPORTANT: The main noun MUST use one of these: ROBES, ROBE
Appearance:
robes of the dark forest
Dropped:
Robes of deep brown lie here crumpled and forgotten.
Examined:
Cut from the finest of cloths, these rich brown robes envelop the wearer
comfortably and impart a sense of both power and secrecy. Emblazoned on
the front of the robes is a finely inscribed ravenwood tree, its form
set before a circle of white. The back of the robes is etched with a
solid black silhouette of a crow in flight, the wings of which continue
along the sleeves of the robes. Cunningly sewn into the back are hidden
openings which can allow for a wearer's wings. The cuffs and hem are of
an even deeper shade of brown, slowly blending into the rest of the
cloth. When raised, the hood shrouds the wearer's face in darkness,
effectively masking emotion and intent. Falling loosely around the
wearer's legs, the robes allow for ease of movement with the hem raised
a few inches above the ankles.
Comments:

Adjusting what remains of the garment, Brennan Stormcrow says, "She suits me just fine. Not my fault if you are peeking at what's underneath 'er."

You say, "There is a set of robes of the dark forest. I think it would suit you perfectly. It would allow for many more centuries of picking away, too."

You say to Brennan Stormcrow, "Will you at least look at them, if I make them for you?"

Brennan Stormcrow says, "I won't close my eyes, I suppose, but I'm not promising anything."

You nod your head emphatically.

You say, "I can't really ask for more."

Brennan Stormcrow says, "Lemme see 'em one more time? You just flashin' them around like that isn't going to persuade me."

You scoop up robes of the dark forest.

You give robes of the dark forest to Brennan Stormcrow.
Brennan Stormcrow doesn't register your presence and lets robes of the dark forest drop to the ground.

You point accusingly at robes of the dark forest.

You say, "They are where you have left them."

You smile and say, "Right at your feet."

Brennan Stormcrow says, "Can't do anything right, can you?"

Brennan Stormcrow picks the robes up from the floor and dusts them off before turning them over curiously in his hands.

A wry smile spreads across your face.

Brennan Stormcrow says, "Could be worse, I s'pose."

You say, "Mm. I did decide not to pick something flamboyantly coloured."

You say, "Perhaps for Rowena."

Once a handsome elfen male, Brennan Stormcrow is barely recognizable as a living humanoid. His body is skeletal, patches of skin having sloughed off, and bits of bone peeking through the torn skin. With eyes as black as midnight, Brennan constantly jumps and studies any sudden movement, his head tilting left and right like a bird studying a potential snack. He is dressed in tattered robes trimmed with crow feathers, and is prone to sudden jerks and movements.
Brennan Stormcrow looks to be crushingly strong.

Amidst the jing-jing-jingling of bells, small portals open up over the Basin of Life, out of which float down chubby little gnomes in red suits.
- NOOOOOO.  Gnomes.  I am trying to get Brennan dressed!  /me does not go chasing the gnomes. :(

You purse your lips pensively, gazing off into the distance as you carefully gather your thoughts.

Brennan Stormcrow drops the tattered robes from his shoulders and tosses the untarnished set into the air, which lands squarely upon his frame, kicking up dust as the hem lands upon the dirt beneath his feet.

His features remaining cold and lifeless, Brennan Stormcrow says, "Let's see how long these ones last now."
agree

You nod your head in agreement.

You say to Brennan Stormcrow, "Hopefully they will suit you well, for a time."

Brennan Stormcrow says, "Clothes is clothes."

You say, "That is true."

------
Glom's undead folk are kind of interesting.  I think "Could be worse, I s'pose." is the best compliment I've ever seen Brennan give, heh.

    ....

    What.

    Tonight amidst the mountaintops
    And endless starless night
Singing how the wind was lost
    Before an earthly flight

  • He ripped off his old tattered threads and tossed up the new ones with such skill that they landed on him as though he had put them on more mundanely.

Thank you, Tylwyth, I gathered that. Please post a video or GIF of you doing this yourself so that I can better understand the choreography involved.

Everiine said: The reason population is low isn't because there are too many orgs. It's because so many facets of the game are outright broken and protected by those who benefit from it being that way. An overabundance of gimmicks (including game-breaking ones), artifacts that destroy any concept of balance, blatant pay-to-win features, and an obsession with convenience that makes few things actually worthwhile all contribute to the game's sad decline.
