The Consortium Expands its Facilities

PortiusPortius Likes big books, cannot lie
Consortium bought a bunch of new rooms and some toys to put in them. This is the quickly-cleaned log of the release event and has most of the descriptions for the rooms and items. Probably missed a few, but it should get the general idea. If you're desperate to see messages from something that isn't in the log, ping me and I will post them. Split into multiple posts because apparently there is a limit!
---------------------
(Consortium): Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "Good evening, agents."

(Consortium): Curwa says, "Good evening."

(Consortium): You say, "Good evening!"

(Consortium): Ayisdra says, "Good evening."

(Consortium): Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "It seems fortuitous that you should all be gathered by the work of the Grand Aerie, for I bring news of the completion of a project."

(Consortium): Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "This project represents many years of efforts by the city's foremost crafters, including many of the lower castes who have been hard at work to bring things to completion."

(Consortium): Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "Please join me in the emerald specimen lab presently for the grand unveiling."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation stands beside the western wall, the only nod to celebration or ceremony her polite smile. She inclines her head as you all enter.

With a flourish of his arm, Maligorn bows deeply.

You bow respectfully to Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation.

An emerald-lit specimen lab.
A crisp green glow illuminates this chamber, focused down in spotlights on a trio of tables. While one appears equipped for autopsies on a range of creatures, the other two are more mundane, kitted out with various scales and instruments for measurements and analysis. Containers of specimens line the walls in systematic stacks: "For Processing" reads the pile nearest the southern entry beside a group labelled "Disposal" to its left. Despite the attention to containment detail, a slightly sour smell pervades the space from the opening of a myriad units for research over time. Near the secured northern door, contained behind a crystal cover, a small cluster of boxes sits beneath a panel titled "Anomalous Entities" in big bold letters and a warning message in the known racial tongues. Using a loupe to examine her latest invention, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation, is here focused on her work. Surrounded by white lightning, a sapphire rose thunderbird spreads his rainbow wings here, sapphire eyes glowing with a noble intellect. Ayisdra Ysav'rai is here. He wields a delicate crystal staff in his right hand. Chatoyant plumage glittering in the available light, a dawn radiant hummingbird hovers here with frenetic energy.
You see exits leading north and south.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "A few moments, perhaps, for those making their departures from other business."

You say, "Indeed. I'm in no rush."

(Consortium): Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "Will any others be joining us?"

(Consortium): Curwa says, "Yes, sorry. Was just trying to figure out the Aerie's elevator."

(Consortium): Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "Ah, a marvel worthy of a distraction."

Curwa arrives from the south.

Curwa curtseys gracefully.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "Were we to have the time, I might wax lyrical about the impressive permanancy and sustainability of such Aeromantic engineering. However, schedules must be respected."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation taps her nose knowingly at Curwa.

Minister Curwa says, "Indeed! Apologies again. But I see you've gotten along perfectly well without me."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation folds her hands behind her back and lifts her head, shimmering with proud purple hues. "Since the founding of the new guilds under the proposals of the 14th of Vestian, 472, the Skylark Consortium has existed as a haven for the innovations of the Beacon."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "Under the united banner of Collaborative Advancement, our agents have been guided by the Overseers and their Executive Advisors in developments across a wide variety of disciplines."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation nods to Maligorn and you in turn as she makes her speech.

You have emoted: Portius stoically suppresses all but the slightest twitch of a smile.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "This diversity of work is one that is celebrated in the many charters that have been undertaken within the Consortium. These divisions represent the breadth of our work, and have each come to carry great weight not only within the Consortium, but within Hallifax itself."

Succinctly, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "Thus, it is illogical for us to continue as a Consortium without acknowledging the work of these divisions. It is for this reason that we are gathered today."

"I am now able to reveal that," Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation states with an air of decree, "by the order of both our present Overseer and those past, a number of modifications have been made to the guildhall."

The lucidian snaps her fingers and a heretofore unnoticeable illusion becomes apparent, as one wall of the lab blurs to reveal a door sectioned off by a ceremonial red tape.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation pauses for what passes for dramatic effect, with all the awkwardness of a born scientist.

Maligorn's eyes sparkle with amusement.

Into the silence, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "These modifications provide havens for each division, as well as providing a number of other functions and curiosities. They serve as halls for those of the relevant division to utilise and entertain in equal measure."

Presenting a glossy pair of silver scissors to you, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "Overseer, if you would do the honours?"

Taking the scissors, you say, "Gladly."

You have emoted: Portius saunters over to the red tape and gives it a good snipping.

The tape parts with fluttering aplomb, then flickers away before your eyes - burning up by some alchemical magic into a shower of sparks that evanesce from being.

Gesturing towards the door, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "Perhaps someone would care to lead us onwards."

Maligorn begins to follow you.

You say, "That was some delightfully fancy tape, comrade! Marvelous work."

Maligorn Shevat says, "Yes. I am most impressed by that tape as well."

You say, "I suppose I can act like a leader for once, if you care to follow."

You say, "Is that everyone?"

You say, "Seems so. Onward!"

Within a mirror-lined office.
Polished emerald gradually gives way to cloudy quartz on the steps into this office. The walls, the floor, and even the ceiling are all made from the same faceted quartz. They reflect every inch of the room, so that none can ever hope to hide from view. Those who look upon the walls see dozens of faces reflected upon them, staring back into their eyes. Only the occasional click-click-click of feet upon a quartz floor breaks the oppressive silence. A concave mirror nestles into the wall here amidst the quartz. Using a loupe to examine her latest invention, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation, is here focused on her work. Chatoyant plumage glittering in the available light, a dawn radiant hummingbird hovers here with frenetic energy. Ayisdra Ysav'rai is here. He wields a delicate crystal staff in his right hand. Minister Curwa is here.
You see a single exit leading up.

Proudly, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "May I present to you all the halls of the Quartz Syndicate."
You have emoted: Portius steeples his fingers.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "We begin here, for many find the concept of the Quartz Syndicate a difficult one to swallow. But it is by the work of the Syndicate that our lives are protected."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation takes a position at the side of the room, discreetly, as a tour guide might. "Crime is inevitable. Espionage is universal. By controlling these spheres of influence, we protect the Beacon of Harmony. But we must never forget the reason we undertake these deeds, nor fall prey to the many lures of those worlds."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "For that reason, those who would pass through into the halls of the Syndicate must consider their truest selves. They must STARE into their reflections, and in doing so may move onwards."

Gero stares implacably at a concave wall mirror.
Gero stares into the concave mirror on the wall, his eyes glazing over with focus. Then without any ceremony, he simply melts away - all that he is dissolving into a mercury-like substance that flows into the mirror.

Curwa blinks.

You say, "Let's see what there is to see, then."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "...as the Apprentice demonstrates."

You say, "Unless you have more to say, comrade?"

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation shakes her head.

You stare implacably at a concave wall mirror.
You stare into the mirror, and your reflection returns the favour. It narrows its eyes in mournful judgment for just a moment, then looks away with a heavy sigh. Your reflection vanishes, and you feel yourself pass through the mirror.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation inclines her head politely to a blindfolded statue of the Chairman Eternal.

The lucidian that this statue depicts could be none other than the great Cririk Adom. His lips are pressed into a thin line, but his head is inclined as though he is nodding with approval. Curiously, a length of silk shrouds his eyes, and he holds a set of scales in his hands. The heavier side of the balance bears a statue of Hallifax, while the lighter side holds dozens of miniature citizens. The entire statue throbs with a dull amber light, as though it was a mourning lucidian writ small.
It weighs about 1584 pounds.
It has the following aliases: statue.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "To exit the halls, one need only demonstrate their understanding of what it means to sacrifice for the Collective - by showing their OBEISANCE to our Chairman Eternal."

Nodding, you say, "As is right and proper for those of our profession."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation nods her head.

Twisting corridors of quartz.
At times, these quartz corridors are oppressively tight. At others, they are so wide as to seem like the open air. Bright lights and reflective materials cover them, so that it is nearly impossible to pass through them without being blinded by light. Only those who walk a narrow pathway can clearly see these corridors. They twist and turn like a madman's maze, often ending in dead ends. Some of those dead ends are full of electrochemantic turrets, while others feature tiny cells. Many of those cells contain inmates of a variety of races, condemned to live in a transparent, featureless cage. A blindfolded statue of the Chairman Eternal stands against the wall. Using a loupe to examine her latest invention, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation, is here focused on her work. Ayisdra Ysav'rai is here. He wields a delicate crystal staff in his right hand. Minister Curwa is here. Chatoyant plumage glittering in the available light, a dawn radiant hummingbird hovers here with frenetic energy.
You see exits leading southeast and southwest.

Gesturing onwards, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "To the southwest, laboratories may be found for the necessary experiments of the Syndicate."

You say, "Shall we?"

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "Please do."

The covert laboratories.
The corridor opens to a vast laboratory. Cells line the wall, each one fitted with a void blaster that is ready to annihilate its contents. Dozens of unfortunate souls sit in those cells in varying states of health, lamenting their fates even as they serve the needs of science. Benches, tables, and a bewildering array of esoteric equipment fills the rest of the room, ready to be put to use at a moment's notice. Using a loupe to examine her latest invention, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation, is here focused on her work. Ayisdra Ysav'rai is here. He wields a delicate crystal staff in his right hand. Chatoyant plumage glittering in the available light, a dawn radiant hummingbird hovers here with frenetic energy. Minister Curwa is here.

(Ad-Hoc): Maligorn says, "Annnnd now we have a premise for a prison break event in Hallifax."

(Ad-Hoc): Maligorn says, "I love this already so far."

(Ad-Hoc): Gero says, "Pfft, that's why we have the void blasters."

(Ad-Hoc): You say, "Now nobody can ever tell us that we can't be evil scientists!"

Solemnly, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "We in Hallifax have seen the catastrophic consequences of untested creations."

(Ad-Hoc): Misea says, "We just need to build those ball bombs."

(Ad-Hoc): You say, "We seriosuly need to recruit that dude."

You say, "And it seems reasonable precautions have been taken!"

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation nods her head.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "We understand, more than any, that it is necessary to ensure your innovations are faultless. And to protect the Beacon and indeed the Basin itself from the myriad of dangers that seek to thwart it, we must test that which may destroy."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation raises a single finger and adds, curtly, "Safely."

You nod your head emphatically.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "If we return to the corridors, Overseer, you will find a second and final chamber attached."

A contemplative prison.
Sepulchral silence fills this dim prison. There are no fortifications here, and the paths are both straight and narrow. Small cells line the walls, but there are no living things inside them - instead they hold the embalmed dead, with each corpse clad in the colours of the Skylark Consortium. A little note sits at the gate of each cell, detailing the crimes that the inhabitant committed for the state. A quartz tablet rises up from the floor in front of the cells. Using a loupe to examine her latest invention, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation, is here focused on her work. Minister Curwa is here. Ayisdra Ysav'rai is here. He wields a delicate crystal staff in his right hand. Chatoyant plumage glittering in the available light, a dawn radiant hummingbird hovers here with frenetic energy.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation sweeps a hand before her. "And now we come to the heart of these halls. For contained within these chambers, and indeed reflected in all of the division halls, are the contracts undertaken by members of our hallowed divisions."

A thick slab of cloudy quartz rises from the ground like an ancient stele. It bears a set of graven laws, followed by a simple list of names, all paintakingly engraved in a small, precise script. Faint light emanates from beneath it, lending the words a hallowed aura. The crystal is as cold as death, but the slab's core silently throbs with harmonic power.
It weighs about 1 pounds and 8 ounce(s).
It has the following aliases: tablet.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "You may READ upon this tablet, for all eternity, the text of that contract by which agents of the Syndicate have sworn."

The Beacon of Harmony sometimes grows so brightly that it can blind those who dwell beside it. The illumination hides flaws, but it does not destroy them. They remain, and those who can still see clearly must keep them under control. They must remain concealed in the same way as their task, lest those who cannot see clearly mistake the caretakers for abberations.

It is with that truth in mind that the Skylark Consortium authorized the creation of the Quartz Syndicate and bound its members by this inviolable article.

I. Duties

A. The Quartz Syndicate is obligated to serve the greater good of the Consortium and the Collective in all things.

B. The Quartz Syndicate shall make every effort to control all criminal groups, both foreign and domestic, within the city of Hallifax and its associated territories.

C. The Quartz Syndicate shall either exterminate or arrange the lawful prosecution of all criminal groups which cannot be made to serve the interests of society.

D. Members of the Quartz Syndicate shall cooperate with Hallifaxian law enforcement, save where doing so is likely to lead to significant damage to the Consortium or the Collective.

II. Rights

A. Members of the Quartz Syndicate shall have the right to deal in contraband, so long as doing so serves the greater good of the Consortium and the Collective.

B. Members of the Quartz Syndicate shall have the right to perform extrajudicial acts of violence upon foreign citizens and Hallifaxian criminals, so long as doing so serves the greater good of the Consortium and the Collective.

C. Members of the Quartz Syndicate shall have the right to perform acts of blackmail, slander, fraud, and other non-violent crimes upon foreign citizens and Hallifaxian criminals, so long as doing so serves the greater good of the Consortium and the Collective.

D. Members of the Quartz Syndicate shall have the sentences of all of their crimes save those which are tried by the Board of Directors delayed until after their deaths. They are bound to serve the sentences posthumously.

--------------------

The contract for the Quartz Syndicate has not yet been signed by any agents of the Consortium.

No agents have been condemned to imprisonment by the Overseer.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "And, indeed, in the future you may also behold its signatories."

You say, "Yes. Is there a special process for that?"

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation inclines her head towards you and Ayisdra. "It seems fitting as part of this unveiling to have those members of the Syndicate present sign the contract by which they have chosen to live. If you would both care to touch the tablet, and make your mark upon it?"

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "Note that once you have signed the contract, your signature is present for all eternity. To strike a name from such a formal document would be uncouth in the extreme."

You reach out and touch a quartz tablet.
Your blood runs cold as you lay a single finger upon the bottom of the tablet. Pain nips at your finger. An electric shock runs through you - after a moment, it passes. You look down, and you see your name upon the tablet, etched in the same precise script.

With a wistful look on his face, Ayisdra touches a quartz tablet.
Ayisdra stills as he lays a single finger upon the bottom of the quartz tablet. He flinches suddenly, jarred from head to toe as if by electricity, and the faint glint of light shows a new name has been added to the contract.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation tells you, "You, Overseer, may condemn someone to imprisonment by speaking the words "I condemn <person>", then giving your reasons. I note this for the future, rather than present company."

You tell Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation, "Thank you."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation nods her head curtly, eyes gleaming with approval. "Your names are the first to be inscribed upon this tablet. As they shall be forever."

The Beacon of Harmony sometimes grows so brightly that it can blind those who dwell beside it. The illumination hides flaws, but it does not destroy them. The contract for the Quartz Syndicate has been signed by the following agents: Portius, Ayisdra.

No agents have been condemned to imprisonment by the Overseer.

You say, "So be it. Let us ensure that posterity has the luxury of judging us in the future."

Maligorn nods solemnly.

You kneel and raise your hands and then sink low to the ground before a blindfolded statue of the Chairman Eternal, dealing obeisance.
You fall to the ground before the Chairman Eternal, and you can see nothing but the scales in his hand. Stood on the scales is a miniature form of your own self - you suddenly recall all that you have done for the city. The scales shift back and forth, seeking the balance between your own life and the weight of Hallifax. Then there is a sudden flash of light, and you find yourself standing back in the office.

Hanging crystal gardens awash in amethyst glows.
Low-lit and tranquil, this hall is a vast open-air series of gardens, each delicate display filling its own platform and flowing to the next through leaping crystal arcs. The city itself encloses the area from above to shelter it from the worst of inclement weather. Each small garden features a glowing gem centrepiece which sheds a soft violet light as it bathes everything in a gentle heat. The soothing redolence of blossoms maintained at perfect stages of life fill the space with a subtle sweetness, a welcome respite from the more unusual smells in other rooms. Despite their languid beauty, these islands of flowers and crystal are precisely engineered, planned in a minimalist style to highlight every blooming blossom and glinting gem. Using a loupe to examine her latest invention, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation, is here focused on her work. Chatoyant plumage glittering in the available light, a dawn radiant hummingbird hovers here with frenetic energy. Minister Curwa is here. Ayisdra Ysav'rai is here. He wields a delicate crystal staff in his right hand.
You see exits leading north and south.

Once more, the Apotheosis waves her hand to dispel the illusion concealing another red-taped door.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "We come next to the halls of the Skylark Studios - and, indeed, we are fortunate to seem them represented here. Perhaps you would care to do the honours, Minister-Agent?"

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation produces the same ceremonial scissors and presents them, handle-first, to Curwa.

Accepting the ceremonial scissors, Minister Curwa says, "With pleasure."

Curwa snips the red tape with a single decisive motion, then steps aside.

The tape parts with fluttering aplomb, then flickers away before your eyes - burning up by some alchemical magic into a shower of sparks that evanesce from being.

Gesturing to the stairs downwards, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "Let us proceed into the galleries, Overseer."

The Skylark Gallery.
The delicate interplay of the material and immaterial defines this space. Small tiles of amethyst, each one inlaid with a little silver skylark, cover every inch of the room save for the ceiling. The walls proudly display a handful of paintings that gush with colour, but traditional art only claims a small part of the gallery. There are racks and pedestals that hold wondrous swords, delicate dishes, and countless other practical items that have been wrought with such care as to demand the same attention as traditional masterpieces. Miniature crystalline projectors on the ceiling make the final contribution to the display, shining holograms down onto the floor below. Some are abstract, some are so vividly realistic as to seem like living things. A few holograms even wander around the gallery, displaying the full extent of the Consortium's technical expertise.
You see exits leading north and up.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation takes a pause at the side of the group, allowing a moment for the gallery's many exhibits to be examined.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "Myriad are the creations of the Skylark Studios, and thus does this space fulfil every possible manner of demonstration."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "From clockwork to carving, they may all stand proudly here as paragons of their craft. But, of course, those who create must have some inspiration."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation sweeps a hand out, gesturing towards the northern chambers.

Within the Gymnasium of Personal Progress.
This amethyst chamber is much longer than it is wide, and it is studded with alcoves that hold desks and chairs. Perfectly symmetrical, there is a regimented feel about the room, but not an oppressive one - though each studying nook is identical to the other in construction, there are signs of use that lend it a more inviting feel. A stray book left behind here and there, or stacks of notepaper, even a scarf left hanging over the back of one chair. Little lighting is provided to the room as a whole, those using the alcoves left to control the level as they wish with crystal lanterns provided in every spot. Set in a gap between alcoves, a holographic chess board shimmers invitingly here. A holographic monument rises up from the center of the room, proudly displaying a figure of nearly divine perfection.
You see a single exit leading south.

Eyes gleaming, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "And what better inspiration than thought and logic?"

"chessboard52034"             a holographic chess board
"monument69687"               a holographic monument to Lord Crys
"indcii310306"                Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation
Number of objects: 3

A sequence of six projectors create this holographic mountain, seemingly wrought from countless gems of every descripton. The mountain reaches to the uppermost heights of the room, where a shroud of clouds swirls around it with unnatural rigidness and regularity. A mixed flock of swans and skylark gather near the base of the mountain, all gazing up to the uppermost peak. There sits a tall, crystalline man. His transparent body has the kind of perfect symmetry only found among the divine, and he strums a crysal harp with exquisite precision. The figure looks down upon the gathered birds as he plays, giving each one only the smallest moment of attention before moving on. Each bird sings while it has the figure's attention, and rarely the greatest performances receive the slightest hint of an approving nod - most, however, receive only cold and silent dismissal.
It weighs about 1750 pounds.
It has the following aliases: monument.

"You will find this chessboard multifunctional," Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation explains, gesturing towards it. "For not only does it provide the traditional intellectual stimulation, but IDENTIFYing the correct patterns within it will send you back to the guildhall proper."

Gesturing then to the monument, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "And whilst you pit your wits against one another, you stand observed by the Divine. By our very own Voice of Creation itself."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "Or, indeed, Himself."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation nods her head.

You say, "That is perhaps the most striking work of art I have seen in many years."

Maligorn nods his head in agreement.

Agreeing, Minister Curwa says, "Transcendant."

Maligorn Shevat says, "Fascinating. Beautiful."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation purses her lips pensively, gazing off into the distance as she carefully gathers her thoughts.

Consulting a notebook, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "The chessboard, of course, would not send one back to the guildhall - but, in fact, onto the rest of the chambers for the Studios."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says to you, "Shall we?"

Fastening your attention upon a holographic chess board, you consider it as you absorb all its features and details.
As you gaze at the board, you notice the underlying patterns that govern how the little holograms march and fight. You gentle nudge a few of the pieces into new positions, and a door opens by your side. You slip through it, and it quickly shuts behind you.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "I would ask that none of you bow to the scribe prematurely."

The heart of the workshop.
This cluttered room provides working space for dozens of artists, displaying the sort of organised chaos common to many representatives of Hallfiax's highest castes. Provisions are provided for almost every artistic medium, from easels on one side of the room to pottery wheels on the other. Unfinished works fill a great dea of the space, some even passing from the traditionally artistic into the scientific - a few headless holograms flicker half-made against a wall. The granite floor is perpetually splattered with a mixture of tints and stone dust, whilst the ceiling has been painted with an inspiring vista of the horizon as seen from the outer reaches of the city. A holographic scribe sits near the passage into this room, eternally writing upon an intangible scroll.
You see exits leading southeast and through a dim passage.

"scribe301687"                a holographic scribe
"indcii310306"                Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation

This sculpture of light and colour could almost pass for a living trill, so exquisite is its construction. No detail of life is ignored: its chest expands and contracts in an imitation of breathing, whilst the feathers upon its head faintly rustle with any movement. The holographic trill is clad in the robes of a scribe, and he writes upon a burgundy scroll with argent ink. That ink offers the clearest sign that the hologram is an artificial creation, for it glitters and glows with a subtle light that would be impossible in mundane reality.
A holographic scribe seems strong and confident.
He is strangely weightless.
You cannot see what a holographic scribe is holding.
It has the following aliases: scribe.

"Lest you find yourselves transferring abruptly to the Studios," Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation explains, twinkling brightly.

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "You will note the lack of a contract. This holographic scribe performs that function. Simply TELL it to proceed, and it will recite the contract aloud."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "Like so."

A holographic scribe says, "Some believe that value is finite, that one person must suffer a loss so that another may profit. We reject this belief."

A holographic scribe says, "We assert that it is our right, our pleasure, and our sacred duty, to create wealth out of nothingness."

A holographic scribe says, "There is value in art, in beauty, and in pleasurable experiences. We create them with nothing but effort and our own excellence. In doing so, we enrich the world."

A holographic scribe says, "There is even value in desire. People rejoice when their desires are fulfilled, and that joy is valuable in itself. We shape the desires of the people so that they want that which they can attain and do not long for the impossible. Their newfound happiness is a gift to the world."

A holographic scribe says, "Such is the task that we take upon ourselves: to create something from nothing, to improve the masses, and to shower both the world and the Skylark Consortium with newfound riches."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "To hear the names of those that have pledged themselves to the Studios, you may ask it to recite the signatories."

Raising a finger, Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says, "But, of course, there are not yet any signatories recorded within the hologram's databanks."

Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation says to Curwa, "Minister-Agent, if you would care to bow to the scribe, it will recognise you as the first to do so."

Curwa nods her head at Indcii Oolin, Apotheosis of Innovation.

Curwa bows respectfully to a holographic scribe.
The hologram pauses in its eternal work as Curwa bows before it. It looks upon her with eyes that almost seem intelligent, and a warm smile spreads across its face. You see Curwa's name appear upon the hologram's scroll.

(Ad-Hoc): Curwa says, "The hologram pauses in its eternal work as you bow before it. It looks upon you with eyes that almost seem intelligent, and a warm smile spreads across its face. You see your name appear upon the hologram's scroll."

You say to Curwa, "Congratulations, Minister."

Curwa beams broadly.
