You probably evened out the new feeds with the old ones. You need to feed more of them than what you fed your gryphon previously so that you can see more of the effects of the new feeds.

From a cursory glance at wildnodes status, seems like Hallifax was doing well until Sidd logged in and crushed their hopes. While I'm sure it sucks (it's happened to me too!), I don't think it's entirely fair to blame the Skype monster whenever people come just in time to save the day. You'll just end up being very paranoid.
I mean, what would you want to happen, people be unable to log in whenever there is an Important Event because their presence might influence the result?
