Zouviqil meets someone new

ZouviqilZouviqil Queen of Uberjerkiness
Before the Master Ravenwood Tree.
The Master Ravenwood Tree towers over everything here, pulsing with an
immeasurable yet dark power. There are 16 dark nighthags here. Casting darkness
all around, a shadow totem thrusts up from the ground, chilling the air. There
are 4 black direwolves here. In the shape of an open palm, a metallic sigil lies
here. There are 5 illithoid scourges here. A crudely crafted shrine of harsh
black crystal stands here, thrumming powerfully. Brennan Stormcrow paces here,
his cadaverous body twitching with sudden jerks. An animated skeleton stands
here with a ghostly outline of a beetle around its skull. An animated skeleton
stands here with a ghostly outline of a wasp around its skull. An animated
skeleton stands here with a ghostly outline of a bat around its skull. An
animated skeleton stands here with a ghostly outline of a spider around its
skull. A blackthorn sapling clings tenaciously to the ground here. A wooden
spike has been planted securely into the ground here. Oblate Arkae, Votary of
Wasp is here, shrouded. He wields a serrated platinum nekai in each hand.
You see a single exit leading north.

Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp (Male Furrikin).
He is 77 years old, having been born on the 24th of Shanthin, 294 years after
the Coming of Estarra.
{irrelevant stuff}
He is not currently active in any family.

He is a bouncing furrikin and stands at a height of 3 feet.His body resembles
that of a bunny, with long flopping ears of a bright white, a darker cream
colour fur filling closer to the ear insides. His fur is a brilliant white with
an inner shade of dark caramel running along his stomach and chest, ending just
at the end of his muzzle's chin. This caramel fur creates a heavy mask around
his bright green eyes. His body lacks any bulk, seeming healthily lithe and
limber in weight and build. His feet are almost comically large in proportion to
his body and just at the end of his spine stands a puff-like tail. He is wearing
grey, pressed trousers, 2 etched garnet rings, a smiling gumdrop backpack, a
thin opal band and an alluring black halter shirt.

You blink.

Penumbra Zouviqil Myeras, Servant of the Night looks down at
Arkae.

You say to Arkae, "You're a bunny..."

The sun reaches the zenith of the firmament, pausing in his quest to allow the
land to bask in his shining golden rays.

Arkae blinks.

His voice soft, slowly pronouncing his words, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says,
"You could compare me to one, yes."

Pulling her teddy bear closer to her, voice sweet, you say to Arkae, "I like
bunnies. And bears. They're very cute."

Ruffling his own ears, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "I assure you, I am
far from cute."

Voice softening, though still sweet, you say to Arkae, "Cute doesn't mean weak.
You seem pretty cute to me."

A large shadow flits across the edge of your vision for a bare instant,
vanishing between the trees.

Slowly nodding, his voice quiet and words well pronounced, Oblate Arkae, Votary
of Wasp says, "Perhaps. Mayhaps I am cute, then. Either way, I am for the
Glomdoring, if that's how you see me useful, then that's how I may be."

With a slight smile curving the right of his lips, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp
says, "Thank you, I guess."

Closing her eyes part way as she smiles, you say to Arkae, "I have no doubt
about your dedication. You're quite welcome."

Zouviqil blinks and pauses momentarily, before bringing her
pack in front of her to check. Failing to find what she is looking for, her brow
furrows and a pout takes over her expression.

You say, "I will be right back."

The sharp sound of a twig snapping echoes behind you.

Arkae nods his head emphatically.

You say to Arkae, "Stay put. Please."

You nod your head emphatically.

*** Quick Shopping Trip ***

You give a Delportian vanilla cup cake topped with roasted coconut flakes to
Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp.

You beam broadly at Arkae.

Continuing the hunt for his dark mate, Father Sun presses forward in his journey,
 lowering himself in the sky yet still casting even, full light upon the land.

Looking down at his palms, voice quiet, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "My
thanks.."

Arkae smiles softly at you.

In a quiet tone, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "Mayhaps you are cute too."

Cheerfully and nearly radiating happiness, you say to Arkae, "You are very welc--."

You blush furiously.

Penumbra Zouviqil Myeras, Servant of the Night stares down at
Arkae, face nearly glowing red.

Zouviqil quickly turns around, head tilted upwards...
presumably, still blushing.

Quickly, if squeakily, you say, "T-thanks."

Looking down at his cupcake, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp murmurs, "Although
slightly odd, I think."

A large shadow flits across the edge of your vision for a bare instant,
vanishing between the trees.

Clearing his throat, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "You're most welcome."

    Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp slowly preens over one of his large floppy ears,
    the other paw holding a Delportian vanilla cup cake topped with roasted coconut
    flakes.

    A warm aura of serene happiness fills you, radiating outward and colouring the
    air about you with a bright, sunny glow.

    Pointed ear twitching slightly, you say to Arkae, "Well," She turns her head to
    the side slightly, as if to look over, though she does not. "being odd isn't bad.
     It's our differences that help make Glomdoring a very interesting, and very
    strong, place."

    His voice quiet, words soft, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "I didn't say it
    was a bad thing. Not at all."

    Arkae smiles softly at you.

    Zouviqil blushes more, then looks in front of her again.

    You ask, "A-ny-way! I've not seen you about here before... but you seem wiser
    than I am. Recently reawoken?"

    With a slow, sharp nod, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "I think you doubt
    how wise you are. I have recently reawoken, yes. It was a long, long nap."

    Arkae ponders you thoughtfully, looking you up and down.

    Getting the confidence to face you properly once more, you ask Arkae, "Was it a
    well-rested nap, then?"

    Shadows grow longer in anticipation for the return of their dark mistress as
    Father Sun's chase brings him closer to the world's edge.

    Instead looking up to the tree-tops, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "I think
    I'll be much more active for the next few years of my life. A long time, I think."

    Returning his gaze to the conversation, nodding, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp
    says, "From now on, even."

    A large shadow flits across the edge of your vision for a bare instant,
    vanishing between the trees.

    Slowly nodding her head, you say to Arkae, "I myself had taken a rest of a few
    years. But I hope to be back even moreso now. Many of the people I loved have
    gone to rest for the deep sleep."

    As the sun passes below the horizon's edge, Mother Night unveils her terrible,
    shadowy beauty, spreading darkness across the land.

    Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp gazes to the side, exhaling slowly.

    Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "I understand that. I am not going to rest
    like that again, I assure you."

    Arkae smiles softly at you.

    Clearing his throat, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "I am sure we'll stay
    well-versed in contact."

    You smile happily at Arkae.

    With a high-pitched hoot, a great horned owl wings in and deposits a pale green
    sheet of stationery into your hands, then flaps off again.

    You say to Arkae, "Yes! I will make sure to bother you as often as I can when
    I'm awake, I promise!"

    Zouviqil blinks at the stationery suddenly in her hands.

    ~~~
    You read what is written on a pale green sheet of stationery:
    You're always on my thoughts, and always on my senses in this realm, I
    miss you and love you, and hope the dark spirits bear no ill will to
    your being.
    Sister, much like your own letter, I would send some thing that reminds
    me of our childhood, those times that I would chase you around only to
    find your cheeks covered in some delicious pastry that couldn't escape
    your grasp.
    Take the moment to indulge in those memories with me in present times by
    ensuring that the pastries do not escape your grasp even now.
    Your loving brother,
    Avurekhos Myeras
    ~~~~

    Nodding, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "I look forward to it."

    Arkae tilts his head curiously at you.

    This sheet of stationery paper has been uniformly dyed a pale green hue.
    The stationery is made of a thin paper, almost transparent, with a very
    fine tooth. It is almost twice as long as it is wide.
    It has 20 months of usefulness left.
    It weighs 1 ounce(s).
    A pale green sheet of stationery is holding:
    "curio59465"              a rainbow cupcake
    1 items found.

    Comprehension flashes across Arkae's face.

    You take a rainbow cupcake from a pale green sheet of stationery.

    Piled atop the soft pastry of this cupcake, a mountain of buttercream in every
    hue of the rainbow has been lightly sprinkled with sugar, spice, and everything
    nice. Tiny little flags in all colours of the rainbow ring the mound: beneath,
    the cupcake is no less vivid. A cup of pleated white paper bears the treat,
    showing off the colouring through translucent folds.
    It has 37 months of usefulness left.
    It weighs 12 ounce(s).
    It is charged with a critical hit blessing.

    Staring at the cupcake in her hands, you ask, "A curio cupcake?"

    Many small, glowing red eyes peer out at you from beneath the trees, only to
    vanish moments later.

    Across the heavens, the stars and moon challenge night's dark reign, revealing
    familiar constellations that tell the tales of myth and legend.

    Tilting his head, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "I am not quite sure what
    that is. Does it taste good?"

    You say, "Well, curios are... things... sort of..."

    You say, "My teddy is a curio."

    You hug a cuddly, brown-furred teddy bear compassionately.

    You say, "Apparently... this is an edible curio..."
  • ZouviqilZouviqil Queen of Uberjerkiness
    You wave a rainbow cupcake about energetically.

    You smile broadly and say, "Which is... very strange. But very neat."

    Arkae peers about himself unscrupulously.

    Tilting his head further, almost on his shoulders, ears flopping along his sides,
     Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "What exactly.. does it do?"

    The sound of a distant scream echoes between the trees, only to be suddenly cut
    short.

    Looking down at him and motioning to the cupcake, you say to Arkae, "This one
    makes the likelihood of doing extra damage while hunting far greater for a
    period of time."

    You say to Arkae, "Not all curios do things like that. Some of them show off
    another part of yourself, like my teddy. I've heard he makes me show off a warm
    aura, like a sunny glow, of sorts."

    Nodding in understanding, his voice quiet, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says,
    "I'd probably eternally put off eating it until it went bad, saving for a later
    date."

    You say, "It only has three years on it. But I will hold off on it."

    Odd sounds echo through the gloomy forest, their source undetermined.

    You display a rainbow cupcake for all in the room to see.

    You put a rainbow cupcake into a dark green leaf pack.

    Arkae nods his head emphatically.

    Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "Do you hunt much?"

    Utterly entranced, Arkae emits a long "Ooooh."

    You say, "Sometimes! But not very well. My favorite form of hunting nobody
    competent leads anymore."

    You put a pale green sheet of stationery into a dark green leaf pack.

    You take a toy peep soldier from a dark green leaf pack.

    You peer at a toy peep soldier unscrupulously.

    You put a toy peep soldier into a dark green leaf pack.

    You take a plush doll of Mother Night from a dark green leaf pack.

    Comprehension flashes across Arkae's face.

    Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "I recall once.."

    Arkae blinks.

    Looking aside, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "I'd rather not recall."

    You smile broadly and say to Arkae, "Then don't. I certainly won't force you."

    Nodding as he looks up, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "Aetherhunting, yes?"

    Nodding in agreement, you say to Arkae, "Yes, precisely."

    The sound of a distant scream echoes between the trees, only to be suddenly cut
    short.

    Midnight shadows coalesce around a new day, and Mother Night embraces the land
    in utter darkness.
    It is now the 3rd of Juliary, 372 years after the Coming of Estarra.

    Baleful crimson shafts of light scatter across the face of the First World as
    the Red Star grows larger in the night sky.

    You tilt your head back and look up at the sky.

    Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "It was a lot more enjoyable, back then."

    Arkae nods his head emphatically.

    You say, "Well, I'm not very old, I was only ever put to siphon."

    Ghostly voices echo softly, combining into a haunting melody.

    Happily, you say, "But I enjoyed it, everyone came together and worked together,
    actively, on the same thing."

    A dark nighthag blinks and shuffles about impatiently.

    Many small, glowing red eyes peer out at you from beneath the trees, only to
    vanish moments later.

    Showing that he understands, Arkae nods his head slowly.

    Smiling, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "And it's very good for learning."

    You smile and say, "Yes, yes it is."

    Arkae peers about himself unscrupulously.

    Smile weakening a bit, you say, "Sadly, the last few months, those leading
    aetherhunts have only been good at making ships explode."

    The corners of Arkae's mouth turn up as he grins mischievously.

    You say, "Which is pretty amusing if you're not on the ship!"

    Voice quiet, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "I can imagine."

    A dark nighthag blinks and shuffles about impatiently.

    You say, "Ah, the guards are shuffling."

    You say, "It will be noisy here soon."

    Arkae nods his head emphatically.

    You laughingly say, "Drazil will return and want to tell them how beautiful and
    strong they are."

    Grinning slightly, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "He is rather dedicated to
    it."

    You say, "Pardon, Drazial."

    You nod your head at Arkae, showing your acceptance.

    His voice soft once more, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "Which is good.""

    The screeching of a crow echoes through the dark woods, sounding almost like
    harsh laughter.

    Her own voice quieting to match your own, you say to Arkae, "It is. It's nice to
    be told you're strong or beautiful..."

    You stick out your tongue and say to Arkae, "Or cute."

    Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "Indeed it is. Unfortunately though, my soul
    requests I take my leave."

    Smiling softly, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "It has been.. pleasant to
    meet you."

    Arkae eats a Delportian vanilla cup cake topped with roasted coconut flakes with
    obvious gusto.

    You nod your head emphaticall

    His voice quiet, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "Many thanks for the food
    too. I am sure I will return in a day or so, if you're still around."

    You say to Arkae, "I will do my best to still be here. If I'm here and not alert,
     kick me."

    After a moment's pause, you say, "But not hard."

    One ear twitching slightly, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "I'll be sure to."

    Zouviqil rubs the side of her head, as if in memory of
    something.

    Arkae tilts his head curiously.

    You say to Arkae, "I forgot to include the gently part once."

    The sound of a distant scream echoes between the trees, only to be suddenly cut
    short.

    You say to Arkae, "My mother kicked me over the head pretty swell, when I was
    younger, that once. Nearly killed me."

    You cough softly.

    You say to Arkae, "Rest well and keep strong, then. I'll have another cake for
    you when you return."

    Showing that he understands, Arkae nods his head slowly.

    His voice soft, Oblate Arkae, Votary of Wasp says, "Of course. Be well... That
    does entice me to return."

    Arkae inclines his head politely to those around him.

    Arkae leaves to the north.

    How many months engaged!

    And she didn't per se forget. More like she's been told that Tark and his father have gone for the deep sleep by someone IG, and she believes it. She's a lonely little thing.

    Aww, that sucks. I'm sorry :(
