I'm quite sure I already know the answer, but:

If I start the family induction process with a potential child and my spouse never logs on, it won't work, correct? 

If that's the case, I can start it, and if he gets on even once and puts in the right command it'll go through even if he is never on at the same time as the potential child?

    You can start the adoption process but the child will not become an official member of the family if the spouse doesn't log in to acknowledge it too.

    I can't seem to find the related information in HELP FAMILY but I remember there was an announce post about this, buried somewhere.
