  • Seal of bonding: Allows you to instrument bond to two instruments.
Rune of the Shieldbreaker: When hunting, your crits allow you to break through shields denizens make, but takes the damage down a notch. A crit on a shield would become a normal hit, and so on.

  • For manses/aetherships: Power Capacitor. Able to store a limitless amount of power, much like a nexus (can absorb power from collectors, can be coned to by wiccans/guardians, can be drained from ship reserves/personal reserves, etc), and if docked to a city/commune, would be able to drain some or all of that power to the nexus. Would also be able to be linked to like a normal nexus (permissions apply). Would obviously not mimic a nexus in any other ways (no guards, no ascension, no teleport, no immolation, etc).
    image
  • @Thul That last one is unlikely to be accepted and can be bypassed with rifts in any case.
  • QistrelQistrel the hemisemidemifink
Or pathways. Duum already has one of those.

Then I could aetherhunt my way to paying to be an Ascendant
  • Well, you already can, really. This would just bypass the need to have a couple of thousand collectors :P
    image
  • One preemptive change to an abuse I just thought of though... You shouldn't be able to drain ship reserves to this capacitor. Otherwise, a captain would be able to fill the ship and drain it to the capacitor and repeat until the entire nexus was drained. This is also possible with personal reserves, of course, but since the rate of transfer would be infinitely slower, I'm not sure it's worth shutting down. Plus, shutting down the ability to drain your personal reserves would limit the ability to store power in the capacitor for most classes (i.e. all classes other than wiccans/guardians).

  • Mirrored Aetheric Spectacles:

Whenever somebody scries you, you see into their room.

    Must be worn.
  • The ultimate test of will.
  • RiviusRivius Your resident wolf puppy
Maybe a silly dingbat arti that creates a single replica of you. If you're standing in the same room, it acts like a reflection, if you're not it just stands there looking like you. Maybe fun as a decoy sort of thing. Could have limited charges.
  • Manse artifact: Orb of Ethereal-ness. For the purpose of fae-summoning, the room is counted as being on the Ethereal plane.
    image
  • Suggested it before and suggested it again, but a Magic Thermometer. It lets you use FORECAST as per old forecast/new shamanism forecast.
  • KarlachKarlach God of Kittens.
At the risk of every Faeling and Aslaran knight in the game all hitting the dislike button at the same time.

    Grips/Gloves/Gauntlets of Haste.

Gives you a +1/2/3 to your balance bonus (cannot go higher than +3 overall)

Also something similar for EQ. As a means to balance out the mass number of races deemed undesirable due to lacking the perfect stats, and bringing some flavour to the world of Furballs, Faelings, Mugwumps and Merians.

The divine voice of Avechna, the Avenger reverberates powerfully, "Congratulations, Morkarion, you are the Bringer of Death indeed."

You see Estarra the Eternal shout, "Morkarion is no more! Mourn the mortal! But welcome True Ascendant Karlach, of the Realm of Death!

    image
  • I'm sorry, but I'll have to strongly disagree with the need for a +balance/+equilibrium artifact, let alone three levels of it. It's up there for things I wouldn't want to see in Lusternia, like a +stat artie.
    image
  • Frankly, I'd rather see a +stat rune (which would be subject to weight) rather than a +speed rune. Otherwise, all kinds of unbalance would occur.

  • SilvanusSilvanus The Sparrowhawk
Poker Hold'Em Table! So I can finally gamble high stakes against other players.

    Please no +speed/+stats
2014/04/19 01:38:01 - Leolamins drained 2000000 power to raise Silvanus as a Vernal Ascendant.

Another fun but potentially useful artifact:

(Insert suitable name here - but possibly some kind of gloves/tongs/etc) - Gives the ability to use FORCEFEED in Telekinesis

*runs around Celest forcefeeding everyone cake* >_>
Never put passion before principle.  Even if you win, you lose.

If olive oil comes from olives, where does baby oil come from?

If vegetarians eat vegetables, what do humanitarians eat?
  • EnyalidaEnyalida Nasty Woman, Sockpuppeteer to the Gods
And then everyone takes a leaf out of Xenthos' book and starts forcefeeding centaurs to Serenguard.
  • XenthosXenthos Shadow Lord
Well, what else would you do with centaurs? Declare / enemy people hunting them? Don't be silly!

See, all the more reason for it!

Leash of the dracnari beastmaster: Attach leash to a beast and it can not be removed from your entourage by forced movements, leaps, tumbles, etc.

    image
  • Maybe for leaps and pogos but not for forced movement and tumble.

Beasts can be tough little buggers to kill and won't turn on their owners with paranoia. They are too strong to not have any kind of counter besides killing their owner.

Or just get a pet that you can insta summon from anywhere in the same area.

Yes, because beasts are just so influential in a fight. Being a tad overdramatic there. :P

Your beast has a higher kill count that I do! The next ascendant will be a horse! Mag is going to raise Lavinya's Hydra because it's the strongest fighter we have!

Crumbling rock: CRUMBLE ROCK 3 times per Lusternian day to create rubble in a room.

  • This is something I'm well aware will never happen; I'm just a gnomish supremacist (we need a new expensive superitem after the torus, right?).

I was thinking of how much I'd like various footwear that give various movement benefits, like waterwalking shoes, skates that allow gliding, something that lets you fly. Then, after realizing that there are so many artifacts that give these various abilities, I decided I wanted one pair of gnomish superboots that do everything.

Gnomish Superboots 14 trillion dingbats, for all I care

    - BOOTS DIAL <setting>
Manpulates the settings on your boots, which bestows one of several potential benefits:
      WHEELS - allows SKATE <dir> - a dash ability
SPRINGS - allows jumping over walls and obstacles
      JETS - allows flight
SUCTION CUPS - provides increased summon resistance
AIRBAGS - akin to levitation enchantment
      FLOATERS - confers waterwalking
KNIVES - significantly improves the KICK attack
DRILLS - gives an improved DIG
TREADS - helps prevent slipping on ice
      [others...]
    - The effect cannot be changed, and lasts for one hour, after which the boots require a recharge.
    - You can RECHARGE the boots once per game month - costs five power.

...I contend that wistful thinking is good for you.
  • (coming soon: gnomish supergloves, gnomish superhelmet, and the Lord of the Bats' utility belt)

Sounds promising, but a number of those already exist as solo artifacts

Jumping over walls/obstacles = Pogo stick
    Dash = surfboard
    Drill/dig = spinning top
    Jets = gnomish jetpack
    Airbags = Levitration balloon
    Floaters/waterwalking = Surfboard again
    Reduced slipping = Snoefaasia skates

I'd envision an artifact like this as having to cost somewhere in the range of 1000 dingbats for it to be viable.

I think that was very much the premise of the idea, one artifact that combines in one the existing powers of various other dingbat arties plus some!
