It's really good for hunting, like, I can close-to-max-out cutting, blunt, fire, cold and electric resistance with psymet, tattoos, undead bonuses, kiri and a tainted spike, and Enchanement can give a 2/2 buff to my damage which is cool.
It's also interestingly the Ninjakari's best choice for influencing, with Psiaugmentation giving 3/8 ego, and Ironwill giving nice ego and willpower regen.
I really hate the OOC drive behind this event the hints that people are dropping about. Then people can't seem to understand why I hate them IC and OOC. Duh.

I'd assume for when an artifact is being replaced with another artifact. In this case, though, all the retired artifacts were either permanently retired (Ironwill) or replaced with multiple replicas that affect parts of what the original did (I.e. magic damage into damage type artis, +hme rune into +h/+m/+e runes, etc) so the substitution doesn't apply and it is not a direct 1:1 conversion either in regards to how much they provide in terms of boost.
