"Oh yeah, you're a naughty mayor, aren't you? Misfile that Form MA631-D. Comptroller Shevat's got a nice gemstone disc for you, but yer gonna have to beg for it."
Yeah, and I'm Pinocchio. Better yet, I'm Pinohocchio - mod's interpretation on spelling.
My personal opinion, I can't ignore all of the backpedaling and vague allusions, all because she claims a random romance role when threatened. If we're going to base theories around movie contexts, well, Naoko seems to just die in her movie and inspires her bae Jiro to go on and live his dreams. That's entirely contradictory to the Mafia lovers role, where both live and die together. Further, Naoko seems entirely unremarkable, except for the fact that she, well, dies. (Is her mafia game power just to... exist?? I'm not fishing, just pointing that out)
... Someone provided a ridiculous theory based on character personality in the movie when that person has never watched it and misinterpreted who that character is and everyone is very eager to support it. ... I've given hints that if I was Calcifer, I wouldn't be villainous because of my character's story in the movie.
My "ridiculous theory" was never about Calcifer's alignment or personality. The only thing I said was that you were probably Calcifer, all solely based on an uncanny interpretation of your verbatim quotes, and others had already speculated the arsonist could be Calcifer. I'll note that your initial response was to ignore my theory altogether. You only vaguely responded when Lehki prompted, and then you proceeded to fabricate all sorts of conjecture, from defending Calcifer/Howl's alignment, to volunteering other arsonists, to then some weird analysis of the known characters' movie roles, to then landing on a lover "answer" that appeased the call for a role claim. I mean, if your role is from an entirely different movie, why bother trying to defend Calcifer/Howl's alignment, multiple times and so adamantly? Sounds like you'll say anything to try to divert the immediate suspicion, and in the end, it all doesn't add up.
Call it perception bias; maybe I'm a dog with a bone. A potential pyromaniac bone. Vote Saobutt
I stand by original statement, though. If something else develops today or I'm just being an idiot, I'll leave this alone.
I just did some research on Naoko and from what I learned, I'm going to believe Saobutt since she already implied that she was part of a lovers role. Naoko has a husband so he might be the second part of that role. He's some kind of eningeer specialised in planes which doesn't sound very scummy to me. If I recall correctly, there was a non-violent action a few nights ago that resulted in giving some sort of technology so it might me the power of the husband character. Sadly, I can't find the post at the moment so I don't know if I remembered it right (is there a way to search for certain words in a thread?).
I don't recall there being any indication of an inventor.
I have this general feeling Portius would only notice something if it's meant to have a noticeable effect (is he still the only one to notice any powers being used on him besides the obvious deceased?), so a roleblock does seem probable, though I can think of some other possibilities (like receiving something from an inventor-type role).
Ah, found it. It was about Portius being targetted by a town power and Vivet having a theory about its origins. Since it was such a while back, I forgot whether it was a theory or confirmed. I just remembered the bit about the inventor and linked it to the husband.
Well puppy you got the wrong bone.
The only thing I can do now is to protect my lover's identity. I put not one but two townie lives at risk here by claiming I am part of a duo when Sidd and Tremula jumped on my butt after Shaddus' revelation. I rescinded my vote to save him but I sent out a warning of who I am and what is at risk.
I defended Calcifer/Howl because you assumed it was the duo. You got the existence of a duo part right but you got the motives and characters wrong which is why I insisted on doing research on who they really are and what they are like in the movie (hoping that somehow it would make you realise that Calcifer has good intentions if you are so convinced that it is CalciHowl) and I also suggested considering simpler relationships like a brother and a sister and hinted on different themes present in the movies like friendship, romance and WWII. However, you are obsessed with the arsonist and Calcifer being the arsonist and now you insist that Calcifer is also part of an evil duo. It is a very awesome theory and so very tempting. Why? Because it solves two mysteries: my vage allusions of being in a partnership and the identity of the arsonist. It makes everything easy doesn't it? Sadly, you're wrong.
Anyway, this is a dead end. If you have me lynched, you lose. And if your lynch push fails, the mafia will probably target me (if the jailer doesn't protect me and tries to see if I will douse anyone like you suspect) or hunt my lover down and you will also lose. You made a mistake by voting @Tremula =P. The way you're going about this now will lead you to making yet another mistake albeit bigger.
For now, I think what's more important is analysing Lehki's information or targets.
Why do you both need protecting? What powers do you have other than 'lovers'
Obfuscating everything is a scum tactic. You've done nothing but obfuscate things.

The day is briefly interrupted by the flash of metal as Synkarin charges towards Saobutt with a dagger in hand, swiping over to strike her with a fatal blow!
With a shriek, @Saobutt expires on the ground, revealing that she was...
Nahoko* from The Wind Rises! (*this was the Wiki spelling sorry for confusion)
An avid painter and kind soul, you are of a frail disposition but gentle heart. You live in Japan during WWII, where you have fallen in love with a young man named Jiro who designs warplanes, but dreams of a world where flying is seen for its beauty, not its capacity for violence. Amidst the ugliness of war, your love shines beautifully for all to see. Lovers: You are deeply in love with Jiro, your husband, and may speak to his player at night in a mason PM chat overseen by the mod. However, your bond is so tight that should one of you die, the other will leave the game in grief!
You win with the Town.

Seeing the terrible state that Saobutt is in, unexpectedly it is @Ess who steps forward and gingerly presses a hand to her cheek. Shaking his head, he says he can no longer waste his time in these petty matters, and he leaves to grieve his wife in his own way. He promises to pursue his lifelong dreams, just as she would have wanted him to.
Your aspirations of being a pilot were shattered by your nearsightedness, but as a result you have taken your love of airplanes and used it to design fighter planes. As much as you hate destruction, you take great pride in your work, and dream of a day when flying can be appreciated for its inherent beauty, not its capacity for war. Lovers: You are deeply in love with Nahoko, your wife, and may speak to her player at night in a mason PM chat overseen by the mod. However, your bond is so tight that should one of you die, the other will leave the game in grief!

Stunned, everyone looks at @Synkarin in the wake of the day's loss, a decision still needing to be made.

~It is still Day 3!~
With 11 now alive, it is 6 to reach a majority lynch.
Mob Mentality is in effect.
(Day Three will end at 9pm EST on Thursday, 10/5, or when a majority lynch is reached.)
"Oh yeah, you're a naughty mayor, aren't you? Misfile that Form MA631-D. Comptroller Shevat's got a nice gemstone disc for you, but yer gonna have to beg for it."
Well, I agree, it could have been worse. The couple apparently had like.. no power (never would have guessed that). So we don't lose some great utility.

I know one way to settle this.
DayKill: Saobutt
They're too eager to make a bigger mistake than the one they did the day before.
I'm really just going off the fact that nobody has confirmed they are Jiro. It seems like a really easy way to put this whole thing to bed

Hey Sidd, I found a corner where we can sit.
@Sidd: Ordassa (1)
With 11 now alive, it is 6 to reach a majority lynch.
Mob Mentality is in effect:
Based on the current votes, @Sidd will be lynched at the end of the dayphase.
(Day Three will end at 9pm EST on Thursday, 10/5, or when a majority lynch is reached.)
Lets look at it this way.
We have 11 people left
Shaddus - Jailer
Ordassa - Tracker
Sidd - Vigilante
Leaving 8 people as unknowns
I'm guessing we have at least 3 more mafia, and probably 1 3rd party, so we're sitting at a 50/50 shot of lynching someone correctly.
Lets start poking holes.
