  I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here.  We were in a squad, led by me.  I was wearing the standard.  I was bearing it.  Checking SQUAD RECRUITS listed me as the Standard Bearer.  However, my recruit was still getting attacked.  What am I doing wrong?  Or is this only effective against aggressive mobs?

  As it says in the AB, it just gets you the initial aggro from mobs.  It doesn't make people in your group immune from retaliation if they actually attack the NPC.  NPCs always target the person who most recently hit them.
