I think I suggested this on the old forums, but might as well put it up again considering the current discussion on the Artifact ideas thread:
New bookbinder thing: Notepad. Will allow you to:
WRITE NOTEPAD <stuff>, which is then written into the notepad in one go, without removing you from the world.
APPEND
NOTEPAD <stuff>, which will add a blank line and then write the
stuff at the end (effectively creating a new paragraph).
TEAR
NOTEPAD, which will tear off the current page you're writing, which will
give you a letter-type item that you can carry around and mail away.
Tearing the page off would be the only way to create a blank page.
The
notepad would have, say, 10 pages, which would allow the bookbinder to
keep getting customers. Another difference from journals would be that
the notepad doesn't have a mark, so anyone could write in any notepad,
which would enable it to be sold in shops.
This in no way is to sound ungrateful to Gods who bestow truefavours (<3) but when they want to bestow a new one, and one currently exists, they have to lift and add a new one, which means you miss out on that nice little essence gain at the end.
While this is a minor loss to the sheer awesome in the fact that it's a brand spanking new truefavour lasting longer than the old one, Divines should be given the option to add to a TF's existing duration, kinda like the wheel stacks up that Esty TF.
The divine voice
of Avechna, the Avenger reverberates powerfully, "Congratulations,
Morkarion, you are the Bringer of Death indeed."
You see Estarra the Eternal shout, "Morkarion is no more! Mourn the mortal! But welcome True Ascendant Karlach, of the Realm of Death!

Wouldn't adding to a TF's existing duration just give you the same amount of essence as cancelling your current one and giving you a new one? Or does the length of the TF correlate to how much xp is gained at the end? (not that it's necessarily a bad idea regardless, I'm just curious)
GMCP.Room now has a 'Players' table that tracks who you know to be in the room.
First of all, awesome addition! Thank you!
Just one suggestion: Make it send a Room.Players message when you do WHO HERE or LOOK/QL?
The question is... does it also update GMCP when a sneaky player enters? I know there is a (relatively) easy counter to stealthy players moving, and it is a bit sad, but still...
Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.
I assume not. There are three messages involved: Room.Players when you enter a room, Room.AddPlayer when someone enters, and Room.RemovePlayer when someone leaves. I assume the last two are only sent if you actually see it happening.
And if wands have unlimited charges, increase the maximum number on the Dragon's Breath from 12 if you're not willing to make it an unlimited charge item.

I think if your god and another god have animosity against each other, you should be able to weaken their mobs to steal essence for your own.
Debate, go!
Everiine said: The reason population is low isn't because there are too many orgs. It's because so many facets of the game are outright broken and protected by those who benefit from it being that way. An overabundance of gimmicks (including game-breaking ones), artifacts that destroy any concept of balance, blatant pay-to-win features, and an obsession with convenience that makes few things actually worthwhile all contribute to the game's sad decline.
In which case it would still be insane without it. If there's a problem with the offense, it should be nerfed and fixed, not patched with a stupid mechanic that 1) doesn't help (as you mention) and 2) only frustrates the user. Delete miss chance please.
That said, I believe the Nekotai are in a good place balance-wise, but I might be biased, so feel free to point out areas that need improving and we can get those fixed up.
Probably not really a simple idea to implement, but could Ship Personalities be expanded so you could set certain messages to play with certain actions and modules? So instead of just randomly saying stuff it could actually seem a bit more coherent?
Failing that, could it least be changed so you can delete individual personality lines, instead of clearing them all when you want to get rid of/change one?
Thanks

"Perfect. Please move quickly to the next post, as the effects of
prolonged exposure to the signature are not part of this test."
I don't think wind instruments will every see the light of day, as bard songs are accompanied with your own singing. Kinda tough to play a flute and sing at the same time, I believe.
Trumpets and flutes do exist, as well as horns, but yes, they're not bard instruments, just enchantable objects. You can RP playing them as musical instruments, of course, but they're definitely never going to be as widely represented as lyres or violins.
I would love to see all of your percussive instrument suggestions in the game as bard instruments, though!

So if you have a 10 day TF then you gain 5 days, it calculates on expiration as a 15 day TF, thus more essence.
In theory you might never run out, but if you do, there's a boost waiting at the end for you.

EDIT: I meant in bashing, but in PvP I suppose as well since we already have all the other factors.
