  • Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?
  • In the modern day, there can't be a more correct answer beyond Drocilla. She's drop dead gorgeous and if you disagree then...well, you may drop dead.
  • While I'm sure Uilani probably would give you any artifact if you asked nicely enough - what is an artifact that you miss having that gave you something as a mortal that you don't have as a god?
How did you decide how much to wear? What goes into the thought process of what becomes an actual item vs just some line in the describe?
You, ICly, get to decide what the Trial of Time is going to be - what Challenge do you make?

  • Oh that sure is a question. I was rather artefact poor, and did not have very many, but I quite enjoyed a piece of runed clothing that my character had, as it was a sentimental piece given to me by a player who I had only known through their in-character persona.
As Malmydia is a plain looking goddess, I decided early on that clothing would be of little interest to Her. Yet with Drocilla as a close friend, and as one of the patrons of Magnagora, it would not do to walk around in a simple bloodstained robe, and so I took to player designs for the outfit I've worn since my release, wearing things from Nightsoigne and other Magnagoran cartels. Every piece of clothing, save my hairpin and my flower, are of player origin; at least if you see me in the "mob boss" suit I've been wearing.
I'm afraid Malmydia would have little interest in deciding a Trial of Time, and would instead prefer to offer input on Another's design to increase its efficiency and make it more challenging.

Perhaps this is my favourite question. Since the links will take up the most space, I'll answer the bottom first. Malmydia would be coerced into joining, and would likely play a flute or similar woodwind, a place where she can make use of her expert fingerwork without putting them into the same risk of callousing that a stringed instrument would carry.
Containment: Harsh woodwind and immediate unease, the sense of something inherently wrong and malevolent watching and moving closer to strike.

Realm: Something with hints of grandeur, but deep sorrow and bitterness mixed in.

  • So! I know this was asked before a time ago, but what game(s) would you feasibly like to add to Lusternia? I know we have at least chess, ghodak (Go), double-up (2048), tessera (connect four), darts, cluedo (sort of, via Stewartsville), and most likely a few others I've forgotten.

    LI: va-RɪL-i:

So! Forgive me if this has been asked before, but I wanted to get it down before I lost it.

    1. If your godrole was a FromSoft (i.e. Bloodborne, Dark Souls, Elden Ring) boss, where in Lusternia would They be located?
    2. What is Their signature move?
    3. What would Their one-liner/monologue cutscene look like?
    4. Almost forgot this one: what's Their second stage like?
    5. Okay last one: what would They drop?

    separate question!

If your godrole suddenly found Themself mortal (not splintered! Themself, as a mortal), what would They do? Other than freak the hell out, of course.

    pronouns: they/them
  • 1. I'm not going to ask, I'm imposing My own answer on your AMA - Divine Realms count, so there is a specific room in My Temple, the Icy Throne of the Nightmare.
    2. The like, immediate always go to move that someone loudly yells is a cheater move? It would be ice. Ice something. Maybe a ring that starts at My hitbox and expands rapidly outwards and roots you if you get hit by it?
    3. Much like other parts of the Havens, I'm an avid FFXIV player. It doesn't fit Manteekan, but I fancy an Emet-Selch type dialogue. Something about how you don't understand the sacrifices I've made for taking the Elixir, and being outcast? I'm cast as the villain, but I want to believe you feel sympathy for Me still.
    4. Second form? Well, Manteekan is separated from His body for a reason, so it would have to be that. Rejoined with My physical form, I get more powers. More Excoro-looking.
    5. Lets pull ideas from My actual inventory. The loot table would include a bottomless-type pouch that's an extradimensional space which keeps things inside of a dream, a black marble barghest bottle filled with tea, the hand of the Forest Dreamer, the splintered Quill of the Forest Dreamer, and one of many, many divine cookies. There are other things, but this makes a pretty good loot table.

    Separate question:
We talked about this a little bit over discord. I'm not sure how to answer, other than to get My divine status back, and seek revenge.

Do beasts count? I had a custom beast as a mortal that I miss a lot. I also had a neat stole, I miss that too.

Well, We get custom hair curios, so that goes on obviously. For Me personally, I describe the things intrinsic to My person, and then everything else goes on as clothing. I don't pose anything. One item is necessary because of the whole backstory thing. The other is robes, an Elder has to be decent and if I wanted to play Fain, well.

I would have to find some way to subvert that to My own goals. My immediate, gut reaction is, the challenge would be to go back in time and find the fates of My lost fae so that I could pick up those threads. Something along those lines. That, or something that would stick it to My enemies.

Music is really important to me out-of-play, and helps me connect to my fictional characters. I seek out music that helps me express or go through what my characters are going through. For whatever reason, I don't connect to Manteekan through music a whole lot. There is one specific song that I think captures what I perceive is His relationship with Jadice? Beyond that, I'll need to think about this one.

Love these answers. I feel I understand Manteekan a little bit more, as though the thick veil has opened the tiniest of slivers, letting loose an icy tendril to beckon to the brave, the foolhardy, and the unwary. Might take a peek! Hehe.

    Thank you Mr. Manteekan sir!

    Its a tremendously difficult balance.

On the one hand, I like spilling secrets. I want you to learn the things you're meant to, I want to slowly feed the plant of your existence like a drip sprinkler. But on the other hand, playing a Traitor role comes with additional rules you have to play by which dictate, to some extent, how I should react to things. I am Manteekan, the Nightmare and with that title comes a certain amount of fear (I hope).

So OOC, I really, really enjoy my interactions with folks and absolutely nobody should be afraid or apprehensive, because I do this all for you folks and I like to think I really am a good bean.
But IC I absolutely want to inspire the most amount of terror, unease, fear, or general icky feelings I possibly can (Some exceptions may apply).

So its a bit paradoxical, right?

The first thing that came to mind for me was also my custom beast.

A bit more of a tangential answer is that as a mortal, I was (understandably) very obsessed with movement and celerity. I had a mental map of places, had a bunch of PATH GO room names remembered, and got a small burst of joy when I could zoom over to somewhere really far away super quickly, thanks to a bunch of artifacts (I think I won those extra special winged sandals from the Vaults at one point). As a divine, you don't really walk around, you mostly just...poof somewhere. It's nice, but also a bit sad because I've lost all my mental maps of Lusternia! Don't even try to test me on the layout of Hallifax...

White noise, or maybe a slow, discordant cycling between white noise, brown noise and pink noise. Just loud enough that your mind can't ignore it. Buzzing in your ear, forever and ever...

I don't know about the music group question, but I will say that I love the idea of developing almost any pair-wise relationship between Zvoltz and any other divine. There could be some pretty fun interactions and stories that come from it.

Hmm. I think he'd join Hallifax and immediately try to attempt a coup (it's MY orderly city, MINE!) and mobilize the scientists and resources of the Collective to figure out a way to make him divine again (the Design must be restored!!).

    Keep the questions coming!

  • For a question, is there a hint (item, room description, etc.) of your Divine's rival, mate, creche sibling, or other Divine Cousin of significance in your Divine character's realm? Is there a hint of your character in their realm (if it exists)? Feel free to be vague.
And reviving old question since beasts were mentioned.

There isn't one, at least not an intentional one. There are a few references that could stretch to Her though, due to the ubiquitous nature of some word choices. I don't know if everyone knows, but Glomdoring certainly knows My one confirmed Creche sibling, or at least some of them should.

What mount would I release? That's tough because its quite difficult to top grimalkin, isn't it? Maybe something properly Nightmarish, like a horribly twisted creature from inside the void. Slavering, with teeth and limbs and eyes in places that they don't belong. Not quite Kethuric, and yet...

Interesting! After a little bit of searching, I came around to liking this:
The Spirit Song, though. That gives a bit of inspiration for something.

What's your favorite memory of being a god, so far? Can be crushing a particularly pesky bug, rp with your order (or org, or even a totally random person you didn't expect to show up in your fulcrux, etc), rp you got while possessing a mob, or anything you can think of. Feel free to redact if need be!

Alternatively, what's your godrole's favorite beverage?
My favorite memory so far? I live on your (players, collectively) praise. I am a sucker for it. Anytime I can make a difference, or do something cool that makes you want to tell everyone, that is what I like. I've had a few, and I am thankful for them.

Manteekan's favorite beverage is the essence of other Elders/Soulless, duh.

The Voice of Mahalla was still inside of the Harbinger guild hall after the guild rework. I really wanted to put Her back out there for Reasons(TM). I also like tying things together, I guess you can say that "old school" way of releasing things related to whats going on from thee Estarra days. So, my release was related to other things going on at the same time.

I'm not sure I have a favorite way to describe a voice, honestly.

This might sound stupid, I regret not giving the admin team more credit, more of my patience. I was incredibly hard on these volunteers as a mortal. I was very vocal about things I was not happy about. I was passive aggressive at times.

Related to the above, how difficult it is to do this. It is, and continues to be one of the most challenging things to do. And not from a technical standpoint, necessarily. There are some things we 'joke' about - yes, family code is a bit spaghetti, and so changing or making improvements or whatever is technically difficult. I mean the kinds of decisions to make, how to make them, how best to spend my time. I was also never a mortal builder, coder, volunteer in any way so I had no idea how these systems work. How the sausage is made was quite surprising.

  • 1. Would your Divine character use "Okay Primordial" (courtesy Xenthos in Discord) like "OK Boomer" (inspired by Ayisdra) at Zvoltz?
1a. For Zvoltz, would you use it ironically, i.e., throw shade at them not being one of the first Gods?

    2. How do you pronounce your Divine character's name?

    3. I recall there was a past ball where the gods attended in disguise. What would your Divine character's disguise be at a summer beach party?

    4. If it would not be a spoiler, is there another god character with whom your character's relationship would be interesting to explore? Does not have to be currently played or alive (i.e., could have splintered or been consumed by Soulless).

For all the Divine that have released recently and not answered yet, can you now answer Ayisdra's questions with the year arc finale reached? *bounce*

As amusing as that is, probably not! I'd probably just make up a random nickname to irritate him.

    Probably an oil-wrestling clangoru.

One of the things we do in the Havens is put together wikipages talking about our character, likes and dislikes, ways we would answer certain questions and so on. As Kalikai, I also created a tab whereas I spoke about the elder which I might encounter and what I thought about them, noting any nicknames I'd give them!

As part of this, I realised that I really didn't see Kalikai having any kind of earlier interaction or friendship with some elders, many of which are active or have been played over the years. I'd love to explore some of those!

For all the Divine that have released recently and not answered yet, can you now answer Ayisdra's questions with the year arc finale reached? *bounce*

    1. Why did you choose the release event that you did? Did you have any other ideas that you decided against for your release?

I had been exploring ways to "show up", making up backstories as to why Kalikai had been gone. Uilani effectively came to me and said, "Hey, we're doing this event on such and such date, and that's when Kalikai is going to show up out of the blue to beat up a Soulless. Let's get to working on it!"

      3. Is there something you regret not doing as a mortal before you became an admin?

    2. As I look back at my mortalhood, I'll have to say no. When I came to the Havens, it was a serious choice whereas I realised I had written my story in Lusternia. I had done everything I wanted, and now it was my turn to give other players a reason to stick around!

      4. What is something that surprised you when you first moved over to the admin side (that you can share)? What is something that still surprises you about being an admin (that you can share)?

The impressive amount of work that the admin do up here even for simple events; creating mobs, fleshing them out, creating places for them to go. Even the act of picking out just the right colour for game event emotes is something we take very seriously!

I think Zvoltz likes to stay dignified so I can't see him ever saying "Okay Primordial", but I do like the idea of sometimes letting some of his inner sassiness come out. I'm still trying to figure out how to let some of that sass show without completely ruining his stature as a First :p

    2. How do you pronounce your Divine character's name?

Pretty much how it looks - "volt" with "z" sounds at beginning and end. (I'm secretly very glad that whoever named Zvoltz chose a name with very little ambiguity in how to pronounce it)

    3. I recall there was a past ball where the gods attended in disguise. What would your Divine character's disguise be at a summer beach party?

Interesting question! I'd have to think about it more, but gut reaction is that perhaps Zvoltz would have fun wearing something that's on the more chaotic side, with riotous colors and shapes and whatnot. A chance for him to let go and be somebody else for a bit (though he'd never admit to that)

    4. If it would not be a spoiler, is there another god character with whom your character's relationship would be interesting to explore? Does not have to be currently played or alive (i.e., could have splintered or been consumed by Soulless).

Honestly, I think it'd be pretty fun to explore any pairwise relationship with Zvoltz. His relationship with Mysrai is pretty well explored (there's a whole area!). I especially like the idea of exploring relationships with divine where they probably didn't have much interaction in their distant past - I loved the sass that Nocht threw at Zvoltz during the recent Soulless battle for example.

Once you widen the options to all dead / gone Divine too... whooeee, there's a lot of great content there just waiting to happen.

Ayisdra's 4. What is something that surprised you when you first moved over to the admin side (that you can share)? What is something that still surprises you about being an admin (that you can share)?

I can't say I'm surprised, but I now am very well aware of just how much effort goes into an Ascension - the plot leading up to it especially. Also, for somebody who doesn't come from a very creative background or job, it's fun for me to see and participate in the creative process of collaborative storytelling - always fun to see when somebody has a stroke of inspiration and comes out with just the most *chefskiss* of words.

  • 2. How do you pronounce your Divine character's name?

Like calico, but a long I instead of an O at the end.
  • Using the current skillsets we have available, and ignoring all the fact that gods have access to all skills, what would your godrole's ideal set up be? You can mix and match in any sort of pattern so long as you pick a primary/secondary/tertiary (e.x. Nature/MoonWicca, Hunting/Ecology, and Dramaturgy, or Aquachem, Zarakido, and Shamanism. Or something.)

    Harmonics
    Aeonics
    Zarakido
Maybe throw Tarot in there too. Gods deserve a 4th skill IMO
