So clearly they want people to spend credits, one way is with new items. Another is tweaking existing ones.
Post here as to why you put off buying a specific artifact or why you think a particular artifact is overpriced and a bad deal.

Doctoral Tam of the Anomaly: 2000 credits
-Can classflex every 75 rl hours (rather than 300 hours).
I would buy that artifact IF:
I could use it to help back up meld without getting stuck in a class I never wanted to play for three days.

A miniature balloon (700 dingbats).
I would buy that artifact IF:
It could be test driven. No one is admitting to having this thing and I can’t pay that much for something without a test drive. Also if at this point no one has brought it (IF) then maybe the price is set too high.

Aviator Goggles (350 dingbats)
- Detect anything flying (movement in/out of the room at flying elevation).
Won these and still felt cheated so traded them in. Maybe if they you know told you who flew into a room?

If olive oil comes from olives, where does baby oil come from?
If vegetarians eat vegetables, what do humanitarians eat?
I'd buy the fesix pack more often if it got converted to a rune for a normal pack, like the pipe runes did for pipes.
The divine voice of Avechna, the Avenger reverberates powerfully, "Congratulations, Morkarion, you are the Bringer of Death indeed."

Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.
Manna just really isn't something for Demigods, I mean sure you can get +30 weight and have all the stats and a few extra powers on top, but it comes into it's own at Ascendant level.

And there are a lot of junk Ascendant powers, but the really really good ones cost you weight.

Edit: If you're TA you get all 3. But seal bearers do get one.

You are using 33 weight points.
You have a maximum of 50 weight points for supernumerary powers available.

That power would put you over your supernumerary weight limit of 50.

Alternatively it might require wearing the Seal, but talking with @Shuyin, it definately is free for Ascendants, Svorai got Attune for free earlier this year.

As such, manna is incredibly useful for a Demigod with a Seal too.
Edit: Still, it's using Manna to buy Ascendant powers, which was generally my point. It's not really something you get for regular Demigod abilities. Most Domoths have at least one really good ability to invest in, and buying the weight to afford that? It's worth what you pay for it.

I'm well aware they never will because that's a horrible idea and will totally screw game balance, but I'd still do it if you could.

I don't buy credits because even when I think I might want to, things happen. I have a lot more responsibilities and expenses than I used to. I also want to get the absolute most out of my dollar.
This is where one of the mainstays of the credit system - the scaling cost by volume - comes into play.
I want to buy as many credits at once as possible, to get the most bang for my buck. I project ahead a bit, and consider a purchase I can make to accomplish this. But along the way, my car picks up trouble, or my phone/gas/electric bill comes out higher than expected, or a friend needs a loan. Then I don't have what I expected I would have. I could buy a lesser sum of credits, but the reality that I am paying more for a smaller amount - that I am getting fewer credits per dollar spent - is going to stare me in the face and deter me (it's right there on the purchase screen!). I end up buying no credits at all, and no sale is made. Period.
This will occur even when there is a %+ credit sale, because that scaling cost by volume still exists, and will equally entice/discourage me based on if I can manage that high price purchase I really want to make. And I know that if I am patient and wait, another %+ sale will come around.
Just once, I would love to see IRE corporate promote a sale like this:
For this month, each purchase of 100-2000 credits will cost 29 cents per credit.
Maybe that one would be a bit extreme, but if I felt like I would get exactly the same value for 3 purchases of 300 credits as I would for a single purchase of 900, I'd end up buying more than I would otherwise, and do a few purchases over a month instead of approaching credit purchases in an absolute all-or-nothing manner.
Or maybe that's not appealing, since I know transactions like this cost IRE, hence the need to promote large purchases over frequent purchases. But if you wanted -me- to buy more artifacts, I'd need to buy more credits, and this would get me to buy more credits on the whole. And I feel like as the pbase gets older, this would hold true for more of us as well.
Something worth talking to corporate about, perhaps.
