If you are not going to delete pits then I offer a suggestion of adding an Environment skill to disarm traps. You made it so everyone has the ability to remove melds, apply that same logic to Pits, can make it a double balance action or power move, but if Pits can be removed by more than just Trackers it lessens the requirement for someone to have to be a tracker when they don't really want to be one.

I’m working on cleaning up some logs related to plotting that happened prior to the ceremonial and the ball that gives some context to what led up to the duel.
Any interest in seeing my POV during the ball? Was some thoughts and tells, though a lot to edit and most of the event is in Vatul’s log already.

If the decision is final, I'd like to add another caveat to your list there. Timed instas shouldn't be able to be started on people in pits. That will go a long way in soothing the angst surrounding pits and is an incremental change.

I know that each pattern has a line somewhere up before or after commodities that tells you what it can be called. @SapphiraSapphira said:So as a trademaster I can look up design patterns for all trades, but I'm very curious - is there a way to get a list of acceptable nouns for designs? For those trades I don't have. For example, jewellery patterns shows a ring, but I know it can be called either a ring or a band. Is there some sort of convenient list? I ran into this problem with cooking, Sapphira. Want to take a guess what the acceptable nouns are within the "Dishes" category? How about "Cuisine?" "Bowls?" It's a real mess and can be a pain to figure out if you're not a trademaster with access to each design (and thereby the list of acceptable main nouns). And even then, it's a pain to sort through. Hopefully some charitable soul will compile a comprehensive reference.

I really enjoyed my interactions during the festival. From my not so subtle jabs back and forth with @Kailanna, to the shocking sculpture of Fain, to my prodding @Uzriel into a duel, and especially my seeing @Orventa log in, every bit of this has been stunning.
To be honest, I was oocly hoping to prod the duel more in a direction of a statue crafting contest or a paint-off, but Ibrahan just had to show his prowess with the chisel in other ways >.>

After reading both this thread and the other one, what would people think about a skill along the following lines with the purpose of maintaining some of the counterplay to carry while not leaving people completely unable to escape from rooms?
Tracking - Harrier
You order your hunting companion to guard against intrusions from a certain direction. Should an enemy approach from that direction while it is on guard, it will harry their movement, slowing them and leaving them unable to turn their attention to you until they have dealt with it.
Syntax:
BOND HARRY <direction> [<target>]
Power:
2 (targeted)
0 (untargeted)
2 (targeted)
0 (untargeted)
Effect: When an enemy (or the specified target if one is provided) attempts to move into your room from the direction specified, they are instead prevented from doing so for 1.5 balances. During this time, they may cancel their movement by taking any action other than curing. You will be informed when this timer starts. Then, if they do enter the room, they are prevented from taking aggressive actions for a further 2 seconds. After successfully harrying an enemy (i.e they did enter the room), your hunting companion will require <time, not sure what would be reasonable> to recover before it can harry again. Furthermore, only one companion can harry any given player as they enter a room. If untargeted, the companion will harry a random enemy who is attempting the room (i.e. in the person moving's entourage).If an enemy does not attempt to move into the room, a companion can only remain on guard for <time> before it will need to be given the order again. Finally, it is possible to see any harrying companions when observing one's surroundings.
The balance is very rough. While comments on the specific numbers are welcome, I am mostly interested in what people think of the general idea.
