Announce Post #3072: New Artbard System is Live

We're delighted to announce that our Artbard system has now moved over to a whole new version, and is even better than before!

Some of the features and changes in this new system:
- Improved display of entries.
- Search by artist/author, submission date, placement, or content!
- Commas are no longer the enemy of titles and descriptions.
- Artisanals must now be in JPG or PNG format, and may be no larger than 8MB.
- Bardics are now uploaded via an in-browser editor.

Necessary updates have been made to the instructions on HELP ARTBARD, and you will also be given reminders of some of the upload requirements (e.g. file format) whilst submitting.

As part of moving over to the new system, we will be uploading past Bardics and Artisanals over the coming weeks, beginning with the most recent. If you do not see a previous work of yours at present, there is no need to alert us. We will get to everything as we are able.

Any submissions already made for September's contest have already been added, as have those presently being judged in the August contest.

Lastly and most importantly - a huge thank you to the hard working coders and volunteers who have worked to get this up and running with such a quick turnaround!

"Spear" should really be a noun for Cavalier weapons. It would be an amazing option RP-wise for Commune warriors in particular, although it could be great for characters from everywhere, really.

Let's try this again. The spoiler button does not like me. Here's what Faythe wore to the wedding, sharing per @Lief 's request.

She is a graceful elfen, fair-skinned and heavily freckled from the sun. As is typical of the elfen race, her athletic frame is fine-boned and graceful, about five and a half feet in height. Her hair is a deep, chestnut brown, the locks of which have been twisted into a long, intricate plait. Colorful orchid and snapdragon blooms are woven along the length of the braid, while a few loose tendrils fall forward to frame her delicate features. Wide eyes of an olive-green are set in her heart-shaped face, just over a small nose and a full-lipped mouth. Tattooed on her arms is an illustration of swirling tendrils of blue and umber.
She is wearing:

a cluster of snapdragons woven into her braid
a striped orchid woven into her braid
a translucent crystal bindi centered shimmering upon her brow
a sheer olive green sari embroidered with golden orchid blooms wrapped snugly to her form, leaving her right arm bare
a golden armband of creeping snapdragons upon her right arm
an anklet adorned with a multitude of bells tinkling softly on her left ankle.

And closer look at clothing for those that care:

Sheer and dreamy, this delicate sari is composed of two thin layers of

soft, translucent gauze; one piece is a snowy ethereal white, while the

other is a striking olive green. Ephemeral and ink-like, capillary-thin

golden threads spin across the fabric, forming delicately wending vines

that blossom into orchids, their curling petals in full bloom. Crushed

diamonds and tiny seed-pearls are haphazardly strewn across the sari,

some clustering together upon the petals of the orchids, and when

touched by any ambient lighting it is as if the blooms spring to life.

The gauze clings to the body, wrapping tightly across the bosom and over

one shoulder, leaving the opposite arm bared. The material leaves the

midriff bare as it snugs into the waist, flowing down over the hips to

fall in straight folds to the ground. All along the bottom edge of the

sheer material hang tiny golden bells that gently chime together with

Thin tendrils of gold have been twisted together and wrap snugly around

the upper arm, no more than an inch in width. Resembling a creeping

vine, this band blooms into sporadic clusters of snapdragons and

glittering emerald leaves. Gently cradled by the metal filigree, each

flower's delicate gemstone petals unfurl in sparkling shades of pale

orange beryl, brightest ruby red and gleaming pearl white.

Shimmering white gold has been wrought into the minute links of a

delicate anklet chain, from which dangle a multitude of miniscule bells.

Crafted of varying hues of gold - yellow, white, red, and rose - the

polished, gleaming bells have been fashioned not only for decoration,

but give off a gentle chorus of ethereal chimes and jingles with even

the slightest movement.

A twined pair of golden vines form the loop of this wedding band. The thin channels between the vines have been filled with tiny slivers of emerald. Atop the band, six more emerald fragments have been cut in the shape of delicate leaves and set in a ring. A rose in full bloom, its petals thin slices of ruby, rests at the center of the verdant leaves. A single brilliant diamond has been set in the center of the rose, its facets glittering in even the faintest light.
Engraved on it are the words:

To the sole possessor of my heart, given as a symbol of my love for you.

a wedding band of blossoming joy

Across this wedding band's broad, lustrous surface, tiny chips of gemstones blossom into a glittering mosaic of romantic color. Enwreathed by choice flecks of darkened emerald leaves, minuscule pieces of garnet cluster into flattened petals outlined in veins of gold, unfurling as a rose in its fullest bloom. Their subtle facets sparkle when they catch the light like dewdrops might, if such signs of gathered morning could be captured and crystallized for the sake of a ring. Swelling from this flattened sprawl of color, one small but perfect centerpiece crests the flower's heart: a convex honeyed beryl rises like the first glimpse of dawn breaking the horizon, a sun-kissed reminder of joy bursting from the cushion of love's most traditional symbol.

Engraved on it are the words:

Like fragrant blossoms to the little honeybee, my heart sings for you.

Cut from a heavy, smooth-weave cloth, this suit experiments with colour and pattern in bold geometrics; brilliant aquamarine, vivid magenta, and intense lime green all vie for dominance within an irregular framework of cobalt blue. Interspersed between the colours are panels of speckled purple on a cream background, all the hues blending together into a dazzling kaleidoscopic puzzle. Consisting of tapered trousers that cuff fashionably just above the ankle, and a twin-buttoned, single vent jacket tailored with slim curved seams and narrow, notched lapels, this suit is brought together with a complementary slim-line tie. The crisp, starched white shirt has a cutaway collar to expose the narrow knot of the tie, while the clean vibrant white is echoed in a polished silver bumblebee lapel pin, its yellow and black enamel in contrast to the glaring colours of the suit itself.
