There's always been a pretty consistent complaint regarding ascendants in that 1) they're just so much better and required and 2) you have to raise someone that's combat-oriented or it's a waste.
These changes seek to reduce/remove both of those complaints by making the differences less. There are still mechanical advantages and RP accolades associated with it.

I saw that! The funny part is, as a joke, I mentioned coming to throw glitter at your stage because the play would mean Glomdoring beats Gaudiguch for culture points or something (still kind of new-ish to that and don't quite get it yet!) You can remove all that conditional logic by using string.format. The format specifier %02d says "take a number, and format it to a width of at least 2 characters, filling with 0s"
