Skill Ideas

I remember there being a thread like this in the past, and it feels appropriate if we want to throw around ideas that aren't quite simple or fit in elsewhere.

Idea 1:

DISCIPLINE - LEVELLED STRIKE

When toggled on, will suppress all critical hits. For when you want to test out various damage buffs for mobs but don't want the things getting in the way.

DISCERNMENT - EXTRASENSORY

When toggled on, will allow you to discern the damage types used by mobs against you, and what % of each strike they are.

Also, transferring over the Spelltag idea from Simple Ideas for visibility.

    ENCHANTMENT - SPELLTAGS

At the cost of 50% of a powerstone and a plain bookbinding letter, you can create a spelltag to store a given enchantment. This can be any enchantment the enchanter can normally access, be it elemental, cosmic, tinkering, etc.

Simply APPLY <SPELLTAG/ENCHANTMENT> TO <ITEM>. If it is an appropriate enchantment vessel, then the spelltag will dissipate while infusing the enchantment into that object with a single charge.

This can help eat up some of the mass of powerstones floating around and give the spelltags a reasonable cost. It should also make it easier for enchanters to distribute things on their own, and jewelers have more freedom to stock and sell unenchanted jewelry (since then people can pick whatever they want and then apply the enchantment themselves after).

This adds too much to number of shop items and benefits established players who may want to use them for curios and brooches far more than new and broke players. One benefit it would give is to not require enchanters to find jewelers. It probably should require a scroll prepared with magicink over a simple letter.

IMO individual items like with artisan wares and sorcelscrolls really do require individual shop items, but enchantments which individually have no uniqueness really should be be bundled like recharges, esteem, alcohol, etc.

What if you applied the tag to a cube? Then from then on the cube would be typed towards that kind of enchantment and you could charge "blank" items from the cube giving them the enchantment ?

It would mean that you would need a variety of cubes available and general cubes would probably become more for players though

Add on to Discernment's Bodyscan, BODYSCAN REGEN[ERATION] [FULL], to show vitals regeneration level (positive or negative) from abilities and other buffs outside of racial bonuses.

If we're going to have hard caps it would be nice to be able to see all relevant buffs. It may be someone would have caught the lvl3 influence buff if we could see buffs.

Bodyscan Stats helped catch the female Kephera size bug. Though it is kinda worrying how no one noticed something screwy was going on before Bodyscan Stats was all like '+ 1 dex due to size' and I was like whaaat.

  • Hopefully, when they update the buff system during the overhaul, it'll make it easier to code in something like this. More clarity and visibility will be great.
