ASCII scrolls!

I'm working on making a pretty scroll for Drocilla, and it looks great so far, but when I switched it over into a clan to test it, all the extra spaces I used (for spacing reasons) disappeared and it just looked all gobbledy-gookish. Any solutions or tips?

Sequential spaces will be stripped, in order, from any lines of text longer than 80 characters.

Use notepad so you don't get the extra bits Word adds to the end of lines. Also IG books and stuff use a 80character width (even if you have your output set to something else). Don't use tabs (as the IG editor eats these, use spaces directly)

Try making sure no line is over 70 characters long, including spaces. I usually make a line of 70 dashes to use as a kind of ruler whenever I need things to be spaced a certain way.

The limit might actually be 71 or 72, but I just stick with 70 as my maximum line length.

I had a big post explaining how I had taken precautions in notepad but I realised my problem. In keeping my 80 line ruler, I used a repetition of 12345678910...not realising until just now that it was a total of 11 characters used. So instead of 80 characters long, my thing is 88 characters long. Thanks, guys, the problem was mine.

Woot! Thanks you guys, my scroll looks so pretty! By the way, the line limit for scrolls is 72, like @Daraius said. ::::)

PLEASE keep in mind that while these things may look fancy, they will be a complete NIGHTMARE for those who are sight-impaired and use text-readers to be able to play.  It might be worth keeping a plain-text copy somewhere, even if it is in a separate clan.
