Kagato challenges Roark to a game of Tessera

A little trivia before I post the log - Tessera is basically a lusternian version of 'Connect 4'.  Roark was primarily responsible for coding the Tessera game in Lusternia in the first place, it being one of the only 'games' in Lusternia that actually has some semblence of AI in it (You can play against almost any denizen, with the difficulty changing appropriately - challenging a denizen in Newton Caverns results in a rather easy game, while challenging Elohora or Luciphage would be extremely challenging.)  Admittedly this was not the first time I have played against Roark and had expressed interest in a rematch against Him, it all came down to catching Him attentive at the right time.  I also took the opportunity to find out what Roark's zap looks like, since I think not many people - if any - have actually seen a zap from Roark.

You walk through the tear in reality just like any other doorway. The Fulcrux of Roark. A comforting feeling of privacy pervades the area. A mystical tear in reality pulsates here. Three granite pillars rise up upon a large shrine to Roark. A book entitled "Principles" rests upon a niche carved into the rock walls. An ancient-looking scroll lies here. You see a single exit leading through a small tear in reality. You shout, "Lord Roark Libertas, I challenge you to a game of Tessera, at Your fulcrux. Will You accept my challenge, or will You yield?" The proud voice of Roark orates from far above, "What's in it for Me?" You shout, "My life. Is that sufficient enough risk for You to face me?" The proud voice of Roark orates from far above, "There is no risk for Me. But flipping a coin to decide if I am in a merciful mood or not sounds like as good enough way to while away the time as any." The proud form of Roark Libertas shimmers into existence before you. You shout, "Should any wish to bear witness to my challenge and its outcome, please teleport to me. The game will start in 1 minute." You drop a marble tessera board. You feel a slight tug within your chest and the air around you sparkles with motes of bright light. Among the sparkling motes of light, a translucent figure appears in the air and then quickly solidifies as Shonjir comes into Gero asks, "So who's fighting who and for what reason?" (Roark Libertas) says, "Kagato expressed interest in being zapped." Rivius grows still and his lips begin to move silently. Rivius coughs softly. Shonjir's tail swishes from side to side, ears flicking back momentarily. You say, "I am challenging Lord Libertas to a game of Tessera with my life on the line. I thought it might be enough to draw His attention." Gero says, "Oh." Waving a hand dismissively, Gero says, "Boring." You say, "Besides, I don't think many have actually seen one ever being zapped by You before." You say, "Anyway, let us begin." You begin a game of Tessera with Roark. Gero says, "Bet something a little more interesting." Gero says, "Like the lives of everyone in Celest." Roark drops a tile in column 4. Roark's mouth turns up as His face breaks into a smile. (Roark Libertas) says, "It seems I was not in a merciful mood." (Roark Libertas) says, "I'm a god of My word. I will uphold my end of the bargain." An ethereal eagle appears in your mind and speaks, declaring itself master of the skies. You hear a high-pitched screaming noise and instantly a bolt of blue, crackling energy strikes your mortal body. Your back arches as pain explodes in your brain. Blue fire erupts through your eye sockets and mouth as you die in unspeakable agony. You have been slain by Roark. The mortal threads of your being severed, you scream in agony as the Divine spark within you enfolds your body with scorching flames. The Divine voice of (Roark Libertas) echoes in your head, "That was fun. You played a lot better that time." You tell Roark Libertas, "Thanks. I had fun too."

For a second, I thought that tessera was the Go equivalent, and was astonished that there was an AI for it. Connect four, on the other hand, can be played algorithmically .
