Help, I Can't Swim!

Underwater, anyway.

Is there something that will allow me to explore underwater without the bothersome drowning? Until now I've never needed it, but now that I'm testing out my mapper by exploring more it's becoming a nuisance, and for the life of my I can't find anything in the help files or Google.

Is that all it takes? Well, then, thanks! I will look for it.

I think it was hard to find the answer because I was expecting a plant like some other IRE's I've played.
  • A plant?
    Weird.

Imperian uses a pear. I thought I played another that had the same mechanic, but I can't remember so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  • Achaea also uses the prickly pear for waterbreathing.

  • So, you eat a pear to waterbreath? or do you just bite into it, like an artifact?

  • Aetolia is the same.  IIRC, the message is something like a bubble of air forming around your head.  Could be wrong on that front, though.

When you go underwater, you consume one to be able to breathe. They're found by harvesting, so they're quite common. Like @Zeleni said, you become surrounded by water.
  • Prickly Pear is a cactus, not an actual pear. Just FYI.

  • Its also delicious.
