Monks, tattoos and robes

What happens when a Monk with full tattoos wears an unenchanted robe? Would he be using the stats of the robe or the stats of his tattoo amour?

    Robe, I believe. Unenchanted robes do have a small amount of armor (what, 12/12) so in theory that'd switch off the tattoo armor, which would be a bad thing for the monk.
