A Sixth Archetype: Archers - Idea Collation/Collaboration

So, to varying levels of joking, there has been talk about archers being a sixth archetype among the players on the main Discord server and in game. This forum thread is here to help collate and collaborate on players' ideas. Even if it's never implemented, it might be a fun, interesting thought exercise - and who knows. The future holds many manifold paths!

This initial post may be later updated with further notes and questions.

1. What kind of skills would they have in terms of primary/secondary/tertiary? (Archery, presumably)
2. What would the names of the classes be? (e.g. Glomdoring's might be something like Shadestalker)
3. What would individual new skills look like? What do they do? (e.g. AB ARCHERY ADHESIVE refers to adhesive arrows and how they definitely don't stain clothing)
4. What would their weapons be like? (e.g. designed bows that must be unstrung and restrung periodically; quivers that hold a certain quantity of arrows; arrows that must be forged or crafted like runes; etc)

pronouns: they/them

    Some fanmade speculations:

Cities would get gunslingers and communes would get archers.

Primary skill: Artificing then specialises depending on which org, either Bowmanship (commune) and Firearms (city).
Secondary skill (fixed and shared): Hunting then Tracking (perhaps a flying companion instead)
Tertiary skill (dependent on the org): possibly rituals or totems? Or an entirely new skill, I dunno.

    2. What would the names of the classes be? (e.g. Glomdoring's might be something like Shadestalker)

No idea, but I know someone with a more creative mind can think of something *rofl*

Artificing would allow to use ranged weapons aka artifices such as bows or guns/firearms then the specialisations will focus on the mastery of each artifice variants similar to warriors or specialisations will allow to use artifice variants on top of the basic sling (sorry rune mages, I think slings should better be a damage weapon, hehe).

AB ARTIFICING BOW -> AB BOWMANSHIP CROSS BOW
AB ARTICING PISTOL -> AB FIREARMS MUSKET

    OR

AB ARTIFICING SLING that will branch out to AB BOWMANSHIP BOW and AB FIREARMS PISTOL

If bows and guns, there should be arrows and bullets. For cities, the bullets can be dependent on their metals, i.e. Celest = platinum, Gaudiguch = gold, Hallifax = silver, Magnagora = iron. As for the communes, Glomdoring can have bone tipped arrows? and Serenwilde has the normal metal tipped ones LOL

Guns and steampunk tech are easily associated to gnomes and archers can be dwarves (I see you clangoru artificer)

But regardless of the speculation, I hope I get to see the sixth archetype as teased before and hopefully, it might be archers/gunslingers....

We're also approaching the 20th anniversary, woohoo!
