In Which Gabriella Does Something Stupid

(Boarding the Dashro carriage for the first time and attempting to figure out the quest that goes along with it, I for some reason decide to do something very stupid.  From September of 2012.)

Inside a carriage.

Superimposed over this location, an ethereal forest reaches up to the sky. The inside of this carriage seems quite hastily furnished, as the wooden walls in this enclosure are quite coarse and have not been sanded down or improved on in any way. The seats in this carriage are two opposite benches which, fortunately for the passengers, have been covered with soft leather cushions. The driver sits in an uncovered part of the carriage, but he is still easily within speaking distance from the passenger compartment due to an open door between the two. A long rope extends down here, waiting to be pulled. A sturdy lever is attached to the door here.

There are no obvious exits.

This metal lever juts out from the doorway and terminates in a round sphere. Though the door is shut firmly, a push on this lever might open the way for one to leave.

Bumps in the road are felt as the carriage heads east along the Alabaster Road, nearing the main part of the Serenwilde Forest as it travels between the forest split.

The dashros pulling the carriage speed up slightly as it continues to travel east along the Alabaster Road.

This coarse rope is attached to the ceiling of the covered passenger unit of the carriage and extends down to just a foot below the floor. As the carriage moves, the rope sways freely, and often will hit anyone sitting on the two benches.

Passing the Verasivir Valley, the carriage continues on to the northeast along the Alabaster Road.

You say, "Quest?"

Your eyes raise to the heavens as a look of hope flashes across your face.

You mutter discontentedly.

The carriage continues east, slowing down as the Ackleberry Triple Junction is seen in the distance.

Passing the Ackleberry Triple Junction, the carriage turns abruptly to the southeast as it continues its journey.

The carriage slows down slightly as it nears Estelbar, travelling southeast along the Ackleberry Highway.

The carriage passes by Estelbar and continues east along Ackleberry Highway.

Nearing the Ackleberry Junction, the carriage slows down slightly as it continues its journey.

The carriage passes the Ackleberry Junction and continues south along the Ackleberry Highway.

You sway back and forth.

Nearing the northern gates of Magnagora and the Blighted Lands, the carriage continues south.

The carriage slows down as it begins to travel across the Blighted Lands, heading south.

The carriage continues traveling south across the Blighted Lands, still in view of Magnagora.

The carriage nears the Southern Highway and the southern gates of Magnagora as it begins to travel west.

Turning away from Magnagora, the carriage heads west along the Great Southern Highway as it approaches the Forest of Glomdoring.

A sturdy lever is unaffected by your efforts.

You pull the lever on the door and it opens at a much greater speed, throwing you outside of the carriage.

A gentle breeze whistles around you. A carriage pulled by two dashros travels here.

You see exits leading northeast and west.

As you fall onto the ground, you suffer several scrapes and cuts and hurt under the force of the fall.

You say, "...ow."

Great Southern Highway within Glomdoring Forest. (road)

One or two light fluffy clouds drift lazily through the sky. The grey pebblestones of this southern portion of the highway are the only thing that mark the road through the dense, dark forest. Branches of trees stretch across the pathway, long twisted arms across the pathway. Shadows move on either side of the path, inviting the unwary traveller to step into this twisted maze between the decaying trees. A light black mist hangs in the air, swirling with a life of its own. The air is still and silent, building the sense of unease that permeates this forest.

You see exits leading northeast and west.

You say, "Oh dear."

The breeze lightens.
