Re: Lusternian AMA

  1. 'Long live the Queen!' To me, there will never be anyone quite as magnetic a leader as THE Queen of the Night.
  2. Old guilds just felt like they had a much more archetypical identity. Didn't try to be special, just 'yea, we're warriors, let's get on with it'. EDIT: OH MAN HOW COULD I FORGET BLACK SHUCK I MISS BLACK SHUCK THE MOST!
  3. I don't participate in the new guilds. Not a point against it, I just am not at a point in my life where I have time to do like. Guild tasks.
  4. Can't think of anything.
  5. The latest Shikari. I'm very sad I missed out on her playing the role. It would've been truly something special.
  6. For god roleplay, visibility isn't all that important. I mean seeing the god every now and again is nice, but activity via emotes or npcs or like... I dunno, letters? Is still the key part of it all. Arguably better, since it's creating a richer world.

Re: QUOTES 8: THE QUOTING

A plush doll of Shashi exclaims, "If you're happy and you know it, wave your tail. If you're happy and you know it, wave your tail. If you're happy and you know it, then your tail will surely show it! If you're happy and you know it, wave your tail!" A plush doll of Shashi folds the glorious expanse of his tail feathers, only to spread them again with dramatic grace, so that the light illuminates each one at a time.

@Daraius 's tail waves happily.

Re: Superstitions

Ev has always held, and to this day still believes, that curios are insidious little devices/creatures that are taking their time to slowly infiltrate the Basin of Life, waiting for the perfect moment to assert their collective independence and launch a devastating surprise attack that no one will see coming.

Nels believes that firefly squid are little beacons when the Inner Sea is dark to help guide ships away from danger (though it didn't help poor Cpt. Narule). She also believes that each firefly represents a star in the sky (which doesn't work with mechanics, because there's only 48, but a girl can dream).
Now, have you held all 48 at once? How do you know there are only 48?

Maybe the rest are hiding from you

My Magnagoran believes, like many Magnagorans, that the Fates are traitorous creatures who betrayed Magnagora's trust during the events of Project Cosmic Hope. She also doesn't like that Magnagora uses organic bats (however skeletonized) as their method of post, given bats' association with Viravain and thus, the Wyrd. #MechanicalBatsClub

Re: Lusternian AMA

  1. The rite of hai'gloh zemordia.
  2. A lot. Not a great rper, so I can't always keep the character intact, but definitely not the same as it began. Not the least because I grew up an actual like 15 years since I started the character....
  3. Magnagora. City, arrogant, independent. I'd love to have an IC reason to flip to Nihilist, too, just a really wacky class mechanically/badass class flavor.
  4. Jorge. The delivery message for Jorge makes me chuckle IRL no matter how many times I see it. Just fantastically silly.

Re: Superstitions

I think most people who are close to Cory already know this, but she is distrustful of all uncles and believes that everyone who is an uncle of any form is evil, because the first few uncles of hers that she met turned out to all be evil.

This certainly sounds like a cool idea, though I do worry that it would encourage people to join one guild instead of spread out, even if the idea is to encourage people in smaller guilds getting larger bonuses.

I love the idea of possibly getting guildpoints for things like designing for deeded clans (maybe we could have a way to set 5 clans to each guild, as "official cartels"?) because it'd encourage people making designs related to the RP and aesthetic of the guild itself.

This sort of stuff might encourage people to fix guilds that aren't doing well, also, which would really benefit the environment of the game and get all the guilds back into tip-top shape, since some are woefully underloved and underchanged and could use some affection in getting back on their feet.

Yeah, how to encourage the spread is hard because there's just a social benefit to being in a big guild, but that's also why something like guilds get ranked within their org and get credits relative to that might be nice, because that way the bigger guilds help the smaller guilds indirectly, where ranking all the guilds would mean it's every guild for themselves.

And yeah, I think guild specific could have a nice bonus of focusing or rewarding stuff that builds guilds. Library submissions from guild members might count, but also you might be able to have something for like extra points if the guild submits a prestige book.

One of the reasons I kinda like the idea of guild being ranked within their org rather than globally is also that, to me at least, it kinda has this thing where within an org the guilds are competing but also helping indirectly through org points?

ITEMLIST REFINED - shows all trade items in your inventory with a value higher than worthless, and what that valuation is.
