I can't remember by who or when, but at some point it was suggested that a five minute rule was a good wait period to go by: If you're fishing for divine interaction via mob and you don't get any response in five minutes, that's a good indication to move on. Would the proposed five minute rule still be considered solid in this current era?

Re: pet peeves. I'm gonna echo Mys on players often being impatient. I'm not sure I would go so far as to call it a pet peeve because that suggests a greater level of irritation than I actually have for it though. It's not irritation, more an observation. I understand why and how it happens, and that a lot of the time the source is something beyond the control of both sides. For example, how are players to know when we want them to RP out a solution and when to actually use some syntax to make something happen? It's very hard to signal that without outright saying USE ITEM. Different events will do this differently too. Coming back to impatience then, it's more that I wish players would not try to rush through things and take their time to hear denizens out, read their environment, and the clues provided. All too often though it very much feels like players rush just to be the first one to do something (like madly running through a new area). And again, it's not irritation, I get it. Everyone experiences things differently and gets something else out of new things.

Re: prayers. I love them. Send them about small everyday things, thoughts, feelings, inquiries, anything. It lets me feel up to date with things even when I otherwise can't be fully engaged and lets me get to know people better.

1. It's very rare that I'm actively online to see a prayer come through in-person these days, so often I see them through the log in my fulcrux or by catching up through my messages. Personally, I think prayers are the more formal way of talking to your god privately. Most devout people talk freely as though their god can always hear them - and even if we aren't always listening it's a good way to behave in-character, as we Could always be listening. For things that are public affairs, I personally prefer people talking on the order aether to using prayers - as the order is there to be a community and join in worship, so why not share thoughts for their experience and thoughts as well? However, the simple thing to say is that there is no wrong way to pray except for praying out-of-character things, as all prayers are in-character. I love both the prayers from foreigners who send cryptic or overly serious missives, and I equally love a certain order member's steady stream of simple prayers talking about their day and always ending with an endearing, 'I love You. Amen!'

2. I have two answers for this, relative to all players and older players respectively. Both equally peeve-y.

2a. You tend to be very impatient. There are times when you ask an NPC about something, I think of a good answer, go and possess the NPC, and by the time I've finished typing the sentence (or even the blink emote) you've run away before I can respond. I know it can be a little disheartening when it feels like an NPC never responds, but if you really want an answer, it's worth waiting around two minutes with them (and potentially continuing to talk to them) to see if there's any response out of the normal. Such as a sudden blink, smile, curious, or eyebrow emote. Those tend to be an indication that something else might be coming!

2b. People who believe they've seen everything in Lusternia tend to...skim room descriptions. And descriptions in general. Then, when you reference a room with a particular feature rather than saying "Go to <room name>", you get blank looks. People blink and suddenly realise that you are very nearly naked when you've been that way for about twenty minutes. While this seems like small potatoes, the more you skim read things like that, the more you get used to it [skimming instead of full reading] - and then the more likely you are to walk right past us when we're starting an event and miss the NPC who's suddenly standing somewhere new or the weird thingamajig that sprouted out of the blue! Which can make for an awkward situation between you (the person saying you can solve someone's problems) and the NPC (who saw you walk in and out of their room 4 times without seeming to react to them in the slightest).

For the final #inktober of the year (and boy am I glad, this year has really felt like a grind) I decided I didn't want something icky for Crawl, so feeling pretty Serenwilde-inspired, I did some crawling vines.

As an Australian, I feel this keenly. So many events I never managed to participate in because I wasn't aware of them ahead of time and therefore couldn't be on out of my TZ.

I hesitate to presuppose the Admin have the time and inclination to do it - but if they did, I'd make time as long as the time were announced in advance for me to do so.

Or, yeah. Put a forum link in the PROMOTION ingame text box or something. Drive players from wherever they are to whichever medium would actually function best for this purpose.

Just to second/third this. 

The last Town Hall I'm seeing was at 7pm pst on a Monday (23/09/2019)? Which translates to midday on a Tuesday in Sydney for me, 2pm in Auckland, and London would be like 3am. That's a lot of people at work/school/sleeping/etc. Despite issues, the forums are realistically more inclusive for a world-wide player base than a real-time meeting which can exclude people who can't be there and potentially even people present who just don't get the air time to speak. 

Personally, surveys can work well.
They're not time-dependent, you can get some responses to targetted questions, have some space for people to write out walls of text, etc. Stuff isn't being posted for others to pick at, people can just say what they're feeling. The only thing is that it'd probably need a field for registration email to compare and ensure it's one response per registration unless it's somehow created in-game. But people also can't really respond to points other people are making which can be good and bad.
