Everiine said: The reason population is low isn't because there are too many orgs. It's because so many facets of the game are outright broken and protected by those who benefit from it being that way. An overabundance of gimmicks (including game-breaking ones), artifacts that destroy any concept of balance, blatant pay-to-win features, and an obsession with convenience that makes few things actually worthwhile all contribute to the game's sad decline.
I want to make a warrior with forging just to try to combat this. Tulwar, shamshir, estoc, dao, longsword, flamberge, there's a bounty of large cut sticks in the world if you just look around. We can't see the forest for the katanas.
Maybe I don't understand how forging works. I thought you could forge weapons to favor different stats and that the descriptions were mostly just cosmetic?
Without paying with credits for a customization that obscures the base type, you are also limited to certain nouns for forging. HELP WEAPONS for the list of allowed types.
Definitely. Removing the hardcoded categories would also be nice. We've got oversight on design submissions so it's not like the quality would change. Just allow for a bigger variety of weapon designs, I want a shamshir. WYSIWYG is the only issue you might have.
There were code reasons for not making all of the weapon types the same in the past, the weapons and armor code is really old and convoluted. It my be easier in the future to do something like that, though - the overhaul is doing some as yet mysterious thing with weapons and armor.
