I didn't learn this today, but it was useful enough I thought I'd share now that I remember to:
TIL argleblaster gives the same "blessed by the gods" effect as a truefavour (boosting resist and damage buff) and does not stack. So, if you already have a truefavour, argleblaster will do nothing for you and is best saved for times when you don't have one - similarly, if you miss the effect when you don't have a TF, just buy some argleblaster.

Does it give the xp bonus of a tf as well?

I don't think it does, or at least not that I can tell? Figuring out exp is kind of hard for me.
Today I learned not to search pastebin for taurian descriptions. It does not give me a good idea on what they look like.
Tbh, most people won't openly critique you on your description. Just make yourself vaguely minotaurish and you're good to go.

TIL that I -still- haven't transferred my aliases from my desktop to my laptop. Which means I go to attack someone and nothing happens. And I stand there looking like an idiot.
Everiine is a man, and is very manly. This MAN before you is so manly you might as well just gender bend right now, cause he's the manliest man that you ever did see. His manly shape has spurned many women and girlyer men to boughs of fainting. He stands before you in a manly manerific typical man-like outfit which is covered in his manly motto: "I am a man!"

Pony power all the way, yo. The more Brontaurs the better.
TIL (well Yesterday I learned) There's something that constantly reapply's aeon on an aethership, leading to exploding the whole ship whose' empath I was and me running through 10+ drags of soothing steam. Still not sure what I should've done to get out of it, but ... endless aeon is like the worst thing right after concussion
Step 1 - Obtain bucket, ensure you can use a liquid rift
Step 2 - Find a water source
Step 3 - Spam "fill bucket with water;rift fill from water" until you have a full rift. This will take a while, since it is only 10 sips at a time, but it's worth doing it when you're not in a rush
Step 4 - Create an alias to perform "rift drain 10 water to bucket;douse flames"
Step 5 - Optionally, also create a trigger to perform the alias in Step 4 whenever you enter a room with the "This room is ablaze!" message.
And you're all set! Dousing is only annoying because of the limitations of only being able to use the bucket once before returning to a water source to refill. However, using this method, you can take your water source with you! Just keep in mind that the bucket can hold up to 255 sips, but won't douse any better/efficiently than if you just drain 10 out. In many ways, this is superior to nature rain.
EDIT: Oh, new TIL. Yeah, Shamanism can put a damper on fires, assuming the weather factors are right (or it's your demesne). Conversely, Shamanism can make a fire impossible to put out (Again, assuming a LOT about the limits of weather in the area).
