    The only argument against free-form poses is that it would devalue looktexts, which is a Demi-power (and probably comes from several other sources as well; for instance, people riding stuff). I don't think anyone argued against it based on the length or duration of the posemote.

    It wouldn't devalue it at all - at least, with suggestions like the former. Choice look will still be longer (hopefully), and wouldn't have to be reset after every other thing a person does. These were the points of the additional ideas I offered, which would (also hopefully) help to discourage people from using the poses to circumvent their own lack of look text capabilities.

    Now does it makes sense? :/

    That made a bit more sense, yes. And just to be clear, I'd love to see posemotes as well! The only problem with it I see is that it would probably turn the Master into a faeling-roost... which may or may not be a bad thing.

    I'd be more worried about people stupidly abusing it...

    ...like so. That's the biggest justification I could find to not liking the idea, which is the one thing that has to be left to trust. While I'd like to see it as well, I dooon't...think there's any going around 'stupid people will ruin it'. Anyways, that can be left for the appropriate thread. Ideas, ideas...best I can come up with as this ridiculous hour is birdcages. I want one. Or ten.

    EDIT: Nevermind, This can go elsewhere.

    Idea: Advanced family trees for great houses as a perk for high honour? Being able to start up 'branch families' that have their own hardcoded last name, but still remain as part of the main family (without the chance to become a separate house). Perhaps everyone in the 'branch' can have their family vote downgraded by a level to reflect their branch status?

    Riffing off of this last suggestion, I think the ability to use prefatory phrases in character descriptions would be great. Something like:

    DESCRIBE SELF (Standing five feet and eight inches tall)

    would yield you

    Standing five feet and eight inches tall, he is a graceful elfen lord, etcetera.

    EDIT: Also, @Eritheyl, I think that's always the cost of having cool stuff to enhance the flexibility of our RP - players will always be able to do stupid stuff with it. IMO, it's nearly always worth it! :)

    So the more I play with the Gauntlet of Hilarious Firey Doom the more I find out it does more than just set rooms on fire and make firewalls.

    Now I find out shooting it into rooms with people in sets everyone on fire, like an aoe ignite spell. While hilarious and quite thematic, this seems no different to a ton of other abilities that hit a room, but somehow manage to not target allies, or specifically target enemies. This can be slightly annoying when using it to prevent or remove a series of icewalls.

    Any chance on having the gauntlet changed to reflect this please?

    As an additional note, after testing this: Firewalls produced by the gauntlet only damage enemies, not allies or neutrals.


    Edit: Before anyone gets concerned. This doesn't burn people on Prime without declare, if the room gets set ablaze the area damage will harm them as normal though.

    Now that's an idea that just smells a bit too much of visual MMO. Don't want to have things show up... either remove them or spend the 125 credits for the cloak of shifting hues. On the plus side, you get to look like a WoT warder in it.

    Edit: I usually check it every couple of weeks, but that doesn't catch short-decaying things like vellum.  Eek!

    A Rune of Racial Anonymity that can be invested in a race hat to make it invisible, so as to make it even better for racial/RP flexibility.

    Alternately, the ability to pay credits to customize specifically race hats to be invisible when you get looked at.

    You can customize artifacts at 50cr/pop. Additionally, there already exists an item that hides clothing, so I doubt you'd see a smaller edition of it aimed directly at racial hats only.

    Not invisible, no... but what prevents you from making it look like any other hat? Think stylish or whatever your theme is. Heck, I have a character where I turned the pig nose arti into a kitten nose. Pretty sure I've seen others with that customized as well, so I don't see what the problem is there.

    May inquire about it being made into another item.  I know it is rare that they allow this, but never hurts to ask!

    Something suggested by Tacita on the IRC, could categories be implemented for help files so for instance Halli could have CHELP ARTICLES <blah> where CHELP ARTICLES was effectively a folder with all our various law files (CHELP ARITCLES alone returning like CHELP alone for those files and CHELP then returning in the new implementation a list of the categories).

    Related, could there be a way to rename existing help files, I.e. CHELP RENAME <old> <new>?

    Edit: also extend to GHELP, CLHELP, et cetera. Also still wouldn't mind some form of covenant specific help file type, but not important compared to the organizational stuff. Thanks

    Maybe a special help file like covhelp for shared covenant help files.
