I'm not sure if this is good or bad yet, but going to try and stay positive but we have put in an application to adopt another cat, as a playmate for my young cat. My Chemistry class is a lot of fun. I hope it continues to be fun once we get into more mathy things, as I've not had to do anything beyond simple math in many, many years. But I'll suffer through some math relearning to keep up, if I have to.
Bonus: Keeping with tradition, no one sat next to me in either of my classes, leaving my adjacent seat the only empty seat in the classroom! Nice! I resented it in middle/high school, but as an adult, I totally appreciate my passive repulsion aura. Extra table space for meee.

I'm wearing cute clothes to work for the first time~!!! Which is a big deal cuz I've been wanting to present more femininely for about a good year now (had been thinking about it way longer than that but it was reaching maximum velocity for about a year) and I finally made the first little big step yesterday and bought me some clothes and nail polish.
The nail polish I used yesterday and surprisingly not many people noticed it/looked at me weird for it.
Clothes aren't suuuper outrageous but they're definitely feminine so they catch some eyes.
Overall though, I'm super happy. Very comfy. My mood can be summarized with a placid kitty face =w=
The pessimist in me says it's no simple thing to get both Joss Whedon, or perhaps Nathon Fillion back on board too, and just what are they going to do about Shepherd Book and Wash?

16/80 pages written...with one month left. But once I get over this whole related work stuff and am finally able to run experiments on my corpora, I should hopefully be faster. By now, my advisor probably regrets that he let an English literature person write about computer science....I somehow managed to turn the estimated 10 pages about related work into a 16 pages (and counting) essay about algorithms and conferences about coreference resolution and the poor guy had to read through all that stuff. But he said that it's very well written (I'm also probably the only person here who writes with a synonym lexicon next to her...stuck from my English essays where we were told not to use repetitions).
Been pretty down lately. Dug out my art supplies and derped around painting tonight. I'm not even close to good at art but it surprised me how cathartic and relaxing it was and I'm glad I am getting back into it.

Yesterday we adopted a 7 month old kitten to be a companion to my 1 year old male cat. It's been an exhausting 24h+ which has thankfully been a long weekend. He's a beautiful, charming, skittish sweetheart. Introductions between the boys has been fractious, and they're mostly separate right now. I will be scarce for a bit, because who can resist kitten love?
