Dear me... is it getting hot in here? Enough with the flirting, already!
When exactly did it become acceptable to put someone's argument down by going after the person with accusations of desire / flirting?

I thought that was explicitly against forum rules, in fact. :/

If she doesn't want to address the post and instead make off the wall remarks in a futile attempt to deflect from her obvious hypocrisy, then I think it just proves my point, that her slanted views are indeed slanted and thus not reliable information.

You mean like calling people hypocrites? Or naming them 'angry preteen'?

Either way, I have asked said individual to not respond to my posts. I have to take the persistence as an attempt at something at this point, clearly he wants to draw my attention to him. Now, just because I'm making a joke that is mean to imply he should stop bothering me with his comments doesn't mean I have tried to insult him, but believe what you will. Like I said, the discussion is over due to trolling. Expect no further posts on the subject from me.

Pointing out hypocrisy is actually valid; it's not a personal attack to point out that someone is tripping over their own words by saying one thing in a certain circumstance and the complete opposite under another circumstance.

The angry pre-teen comment was in direct response to your accusations of "bubble-gum in your hair," which... um... yeah.  You called him a pre-teen first. :p

None of this changes the fact that you decided to just go all-in on an attack on his character at the end.

There's no real need for any of the personal stuff.  If you want to debate things with people, then by all means, do so; just try to stay away from going after the person.

Edit: It is possible to have civil debates on the forums.  I think Maellio and I had one, in fact, during the rest of this little conversation; I fully agree with his new choice of terms, it is much more fitting than neutral.  Civil debates are much more fun to participate in, and I imagine to read for most forum-dwellers (aside from the ones who love popcorn too much).

Where exactly did you get the impression I was saying it was right?  I am pointing out how not-right I feel it is for you to go where you did.  I am doing so to you because I feel like you have gone a lot further into the realm of personal-attack than he did, and am specifically pointing out the comment where I feel it has gone too far.

Yes, the two of you could have just not started it in the first place (and that would have been preferable), but there was no reason even then for it to escalate as it did.  Trying to /divert it does not make this any less valid; it should never have gone there.  If you wanted a discussion, you should not have posted what you did.  If you didn't, you probably should not have replied at all at that point.

Elanorwen, I offer you some advice. Not everything is a personal attack or an insult. If you make comments with the purpose of satirizing adolescent behavior, I.E. the gum in the hair flirting comment, it's not attacking you to say you are behaving as an adolescent would. That was literally your intent. Trying to abuse the system to demonstrate your moral high ground isn't going to get you far.

  • Synkarin is overly abrasive in almost all of his posts, and I feel that his initial response to this topic was definitely a personal attack against Elanorwen. (Unbiased opinion, nothing to do with partisan/in-game politics.) Her response is not really surprising, though it's also not justified, by any means.

He has been asked on more than one occasion to not reply to my posts, to not acknowledge my posts as existing, to forget I exist beyond trying to kill me in game. If he persists in trying to do so when I'm not talking to/about/regarding/concerning him, then he clearly is expecting something out of me, and every post he makes drips with personal attacks aimed at me (Hence the request to not post anything aimed at me), so yes... at this point, it is obvious that he is trying to get my attention... be it to make me lose my temper and go off on him, something that he should really be avoiding on doing because it pretty much comes close to harassment at this point, or he's trying to get my attention with other reasons, hence the flirting comments. I choose to believe that he's not a complete a-hole, so I go with the milder case... i.e. flirting rather than seeing harassment.

You've been asked on more than one occasion not to post hypocritical complaints!

If you're going to come running here to complain about something that you happen to do ALL the time, I'm going to continue to point out that you do it ALL the time. The 'complain for change' attitude of certain individuals drives me absolutely nuts, especially when those individuals are completely ignorant and wrong with their points.

Can I be abrasive? Sure, I definitely can, tact is not my strong suit, but I'm not going to sugarcoat observations because certain individuals get their feelings hurt. It's definitely only certain individuals that get the abrasive side of me. If you want to ignorantly and hypocritically complain about things over and over, I'm going to call you out on it. If you can't handle the heat, don't start the fire.

Alternatively you could stop posting absolute inane drivel that drips with hypocrisy and he'd stop calling you out on it.

Let's keep flirting/harassment accusations out of this, they're about as well founded as Xena claiming people are mad when they're not. It's poor attempts to detract from criticism of your poor posting in a public forum.

You leave a corpse till you've reformed IIRC. The only times you don't is if you've instant reforms like ur'stone, vitae etc.

We used to leave behind corpses, but I think something changed within the last few months that has caused a lot of bugs with corpses. Maybe the change to allow corpses to be targettable by name? I have an open bug on it and a few other related issues.

According to HELP ASCENDANTS they slowly reform in the Domoth Realms upon death, but can speed this up using the REINCARNATE command, assuming they have enough essence to do so.  No idea how long it would take them to reform, but I'm guessing it is comparable to the current delay on being able to PHOENIX

Hrm, I always considered leaving a body =/= leaving a fossil/pile of ashes/crucified remains/etc (but that is just me - then again causing fossils/tombstone/etc requires a body in the first place)
