I did some googling about Ulam/Teller and from what I can tell, they were working on the thermo-nuclear weapons or whatever? (Bear with me, this science stuff hurts my brain.) So I presume that's the project that Ieptix is trying to keep secret? But the text from Silvanus has said that the soviets already have gotten the information on thermonuclear weapons, so why does that need to be kept hidden now? Unless that's -not- what he is working on, in which case it's highly suspect and something we should all know about.
And, follow me down the rabbit hole here - if all he was working on was the thermo-nuclear stuff, why does Sylandra learning who he is reveal her as town? Via an investigation? The spy already had to have known or found Ulam/Ieptix for the information to get stolen, right? SYLANDRA KNEW. I have no freaking idea what anyone's name means unless I bother to go google. I would never pick your character name from any hints dropped, plain and simple. I am not the spy.

A clearly drunk Enrico Fermi stumbles into the gathering hall, gathers himself in the corner, and starts to relieve himself before he realizes there are others in the room.

I don't know how anyone can think she was a Red, she was the furthest thing away from a warmonger. Her work in advancing General Relativity became very useful to the Los Alamos project and her work is still being repeated, remembered and advanced on today. Damned McCarthy. They'll just end up blaming two fall guys to cover up his failure in finding the spy and destroying another pillar of science while refusing to release information on what really happened.

My biggest regret. Albert's biggest reget. Leo's biggest regrest. We tried so hard, yet failed. I became Death, only to give the weapon in the hands of meglomaniac, warmongering capitalists who continue to see shadows where there are none. Yet, their perpetual paranoia warmongering has created a tyrannically united left, one that allowed the Soviet Union to dominate scientific advances and advance at the forefront of Atomic advancement.
I went to remove Klaus Fuchs on that fateful night before the Soviet's superbomb was unleashed, to stop the Soviet spy entrenched within Los Alamos, if I could not delay America from wielding the power of the Atomic Age, I would not let the Communists, even with their advances and honeyed words to seduce me. Although it was too late, Klaus had already done the damage, and we were unable to contain the breach, Leslie Groves, Henry Stimson and the American government got in the way too many times.
November 1st, 1952
The world is in shock as Josef Stalin announces the successful detonation of the world's first thermonuclear bomb. In three short years, the Soviets went from a bomb similar to Nagasaki to one that is near 500x the size of Nagasaki. NATO, Western Europe and the rest of the world quakes in fear.
The Iron Curtain of Eastern Europe announces the signing of the Warsaw Pact, in direct opposition to NATO. The battle lines of Europe have been drawn.
Robert Julius Oppenheimer, Ushaara stands on trial proceeded by the United States Atomic Energy Commission for sympathizing with the Communist party. Many personal friends, including his wife, were once part of the Communisty party, including perhaps Dr Oppenheimer at one point.
The findings of this commission were mostly a foregone conclusion, they decided that Oppenheimer will be the one to take the fall for their failures to find Klaus Fuchs.
Albert Einstein, Lavinya, will issue with the collabration of Bertrand Russell a manifesto that denounces nuclear weapons and called for world leaders to seek diplomatic means instead of threat of force. The world would mostly ignore Albert Einstein, as he will later on reflect that his letter to President Roosevelt was his greatest regret in life, and his assistance with the Los Alamos project. He, along with Oppenheimer and Szilard, attempted to use a petition to force America into being responsible with nuclear weapons.
Leslie Groves, Tarkenton, will take a high paying job on some high tech firm, earning large advancements while being critisized for his overhandedness at the Los Alamos project, which enabled Klaus Fuchs to steal America's plans for the thermonuclear bomb.
Henry Stimson, Tremula, will step down as the Secretary of War as one of the most important people in all of World War 2 that no one has ever heard of.
Arthur Compton, Allyrianne will never recover from being branded a Red by Joseph McCarthy, even though all evidence appears of the contrary, he was always loyal to America. Ironically, he becomes a member of the Socialist party in his later life due to the actions of the Senator.
Stanislaw Ulam, Ieptix, will be accused of assisting the Reds by Joseph McCarthy and the whacked out people that listen to him, but all those associated with the Manhattan Project know that Ulam is a good man, and vital to the project. He was just in the wrong spot at the wrong time.
The rest of these people have some made up history in this alternate universe that was created, but Enrico Fermi does not. The Fermi Paradox is one of my favorite questions to ponder, and all should investigate it. I am sorry Chirbo you did not get a chance to play my Russian roulette of powers that I had planned for you.
Although most of these gentleman (there were no ladies in this game, sadly, she didn't make the final cut whose name I've forgotten along with Richard Feynman, Hans Bethe, James Chadwick) served the Manhattan Project faithly, Albert Einstein (Lavinya) and Robert Oppenheimer (Ushaara) did not. Their radicalized ideas put the American government into paranoid panic response mode that isolated and enabled Klaus Fuchs to do his job.
And our grand winner, Klaus Fuchs, for successfully evading capture, death, and investigating and stealing Stanislaw Ulam's files, while remaining untracked to drop off your package, you have earned a sizeable retirement somewhere in America, because it's probably nicer than the Soviet Union, even if they do have a bigger bomb.
You will end up retiring, reading about conspiracy theorists of the Rosenberg trial and how they had taken a fall, you decide to write your memoirs and give permission for your children to release it, "My Life as a Soviet Spy," becomes an international best seller, earning your family a sizeable check.

You probably get the world all blown up because the Soviets have a bigger bomb than the Americans. I would say somewhere around October, 1962 is when the whole world blows up because you were too good at your job.
