So, I've had a pretty... rough month as they go. I won't really get into details, but there's been a lot of burden physically and mentally/emotionally.
Today, I woke up expecting today to be more of the same. In some regards, it has - I've had difficulty moving due to fairly extreme dizziness, I've had nausea that has made it difficult to even stomach drinking water let alone eat anything.
But it's been one of the best days I've had this month. There are some really amazing people in my life right now who I probably will never be able to thank enough.
I know half of the people who I'm saying this to will probably never see this, but I just need to put pen to paper so to speak.
M, thank you for everything mate. The last few years haven't been the smoothest I'll admit, and I'll always own up to that, but I've got a good feeling about where things are looking, and you've been one of the best friends I can ask for, and a hell of a business partner at that.
Other M, I don't say it enough, but it's always been great to know you. And you're right, more water. I owe you a bottle of whisky soon.
J and B, thank you both for everything. I know I'm terrible at expressing gratitude, especially in person. The christmas tree you brought over today was appreciated, and I'll freely admit it was difficult to keep from crying until after you left. I don't think I'll ever be able to repay the hospitality you two have shown since I've gotten here. I don't think I'll ever be able to show enough gratitude. I haven't really celebrated christmas in years for various reasons, but... even still, I really can't express how much this means to me. Thank you.
@Drocilla, @Czixi, @Maylea, @Isune, @Estarra, and really the entire Havens, thank you all. Without this game in general, I wouldn't have met so many wonderful people in my life, all of you included. Being honest, I probably wouldn't have made it out of my high school years alive. And without all of you, to talk to, to laugh with, to rant with, to share in the occasional in-joke of duck penises, FWTs, or what have you with, I honestly might not have made it past a few points in the last year. Seriously, thank you all, and I love you all so much.
Had the final interview for a job I've wanted for about as long as I can remember today. Hard to gauge how it went, but am relieved that the ridiculously long hiring process that began last April is finally over.
As some of you are aware, I hit my head at the beginning of the year, losing an argument with a door. That in on itself was something that's probably quite ordinary and while I went to have stuff checked, I was okay as far as I could tell.
Fast forward a few weeks later, I was feeling a little dizzy and was told to let myself be checked at the hospital. I was at hospital for a few days two weeks ago and they ran a few tests including, as they wondered if it was related, if they could determine the source of my epilepsy. As they were doing MRI, they discovered 'something'. They sent me in the damn thing twice and then released me without anything but that I should come back to have it checked out again in a few months. Suspicion grew and their unwillingness to tell me anything alarmed more then slightly.
Finally handing my own doctor a letter from the hospital, she quite literally loses her cool, saying that the guys had a lot of 'nonsense' written in the letter and if I would agree, she would hand the pictures over to a local team of experts who she still had good connection too and would let them check the pictures.
so, fast forward two weeks of worrying and panic ( the guys at the hospital were vague enough to suggest it could be anything in my head, including something deadly <.< ), I know that it's something very harmless and while it -may- be the cause of my epilepsy, it's likely been there since birth and doesn't need to be checked out again. Screw you hospital, but at least I'll be able to sleep -very- soundly tonight. Phew.
Wardruna for @Salome -- this was the best one I got (honestly, I was so captivated for most of it that I didn't even think about trying to take other photos). What a group, what incredible and passionate individuals.

You're the second person I've known to go see them very recently!

"Oh yeah, you're a naughty mayor, aren't you? Misfile that Form MA631-D. Comptroller Shevat's got a nice gemstone disc for you, but yer gonna have to beg for it."
Celebrated my 30th birthday recently and decided to throw myself a Masquerade Party. Because I'm a touch on the extra side, I wanted to be the center of attention (obviously), and made a headdress to along with my costume.
It didn't occur to me until today that I accidentally recreated the Glomdoring's headdress.
Finally found the energy to clean up my room...which I haven't done since before I was in hospital. My therapist said it would be a good idea, something to help me regain some semblence of control over my life. I have to say, she's right and while I'm exhausted and my back hurts, I'm much happier now that things look tidier. I didn't have to ask anyone for help or have anyone "surprise" me after coming home with it all being done. I did this. Which feels good. I feel less broken.
I just need somewhere to vent my excitement, but I started at a new work location last month. Since starting, I've gotten 100% on customer satisfaction surveys when it's very typical to get docked for getting 4 out of 5 on one question they get asked.
This week, my location received six new surveys done by customers. I got all of them. 100% still. At the other location I worked from in this company, I was doing really well if I was hitting 65% so this is really exciting!

I'm apparently becoming the person at work that everyone knows to ask about various projects and client information. Feeling competent in an office setting is pretty neat! (Also, who knew I was a detail-oriented person?!)

I survived work and made it to Easter! All publications got published, end of year assessments written, queries (mostly) on target with three people instead of five.
And the next installment of Lemony Snickett is out today.
Everiine is a man, and is very manly. This MAN before you is so manly you might as well just gender bend right now, cause he's the manliest man that you ever did see. His manly shape has spurned many women and girlyer men to boughs of fainting. He stands before you in a manly manerific typical man-like outfit which is covered in his manly motto: "I am a man!"

Turned 30 today, and having a great day of it so far. Got to have lunch with my best friend, go on a small shopping spree at the mall, and soon to go out for dinner. The shopping was especially nice, since it was with birthday money, and meant I had no strings attached to it. Went to places I wouldn't normally.
Last minute change of plans meant I got to spend time with friends after months out of town... plus that I didn't have to cook this weekend.
"Chairwoman," Princess Setisoki states, holding up a hand in a gesture for her to stop and returning the cup. "That would be quite inappropriate. One of the males will serve me."

The cool night-time breeze shivers in the arid caress of the streets of the capital city, brushing the earthen taste of dust across your lips.
*
A blessed silence falls upon the city for the moment, most activity confined to the towers and the theatre due to the snowy weather.
*
Pinprick points of light twinkle in the deep black overhead, their brightness full of a cold, hungering malice.
The weather dude promised me a terrible storm that was likely to knock out power for days. Here's what actually happened:
About six hours after they expected it to hit, they tell us that it'll be another six. Apparently storm was running late.
At the new and improved time? Nothing happens. Storm is later than a waiter.
Portius goes to sleep. He sleeps through the entire period when power is out.
I'm sad that I wasted a day on not wanting to do anything that could get interrupted, but thrilled that I dodged all of the actual inconvenience.
Any sufficiently advanced pun is indistinguishable from comedy.

That happened to us. It was supposed to snow all day on Friday. Nothing. Then a slight dusting on Saturday.
But today, holy cow. We actually canceled this morning because there's so much snow, and it's snowing so heavily. It's been blizzard-like conditions for the last 9 hours straight.

I start training tomorrow for a promotion to assistant manager, then if all goes well, they are considering promoting me to store manager ^___^
