After being overseas for 2 out of the last 3 weeks (including half the Easter weekend), my husband is finally coming home today, and he is bringing great coffee from Guatemala. That coffee better be awesome.
I don't know if podcasts are passe or totally in right now, but they get me to and from work. This American Life led me to Radiolab, which led me to Love + Radio. This week I've heard about a woman who spied on her neighbors through the window they never curtained, a chemist in the running for a one-way trip to Mars, and no fewer than two stories about phone sex.
In the wake of more traumatic things in my life recently, I've been spending my time coding (more than usual) to cope. In the last half a week, I've managed to code a half-assed runtime reflection system in C++ with C#-like properties with only a -bit- of inheritance hell. It works, I am happy, and somebody please restrain me if I ever try this again.
Found out some of the behind-busting I've done at work recently was actually for an amazing charity, and that my professionalism, and quick turn arounds on projects that nobody else can seem to manage, was appreciated enough that a letter was sent to my DM. Working ~50-60 hour weeks to pick up slack until we get the new hire finally feels worth it.
So after an emotionally trying weekend wondering whether my dog would ever walk again... he's walking again. And in fact acting about as spry as one could expect of a dog his age.

Mrs. Delphas and I are big fans of all things NPR.
For being such a raving, rabid atheist in real life, I get entirely too much enjoyment out of divine RP in-game, even if I'm just watching. Thanks to all of you.

Tomorrow (technically today) is my interview for an important, real-world, adult job. Seeing as HR was a jerk and held up my multiple applications for almost a year, I finally get to move forward!

Sorry for the late reply. Great job though! Awesome work. I recently did something similar (made a postscript interpreter so I could get multiple inheritance) and therefore fully understand your triumphs. Yes, yes I will gladly stop you in the future.
I'm coming up to the end of my studies, I only have around 6 weeks left on my Bachelor of Arts degree (and the final exams on the papers I am doing this semester) then, assuming I pass, I am due to graduate on July 30/31st.
After that though, I need to decide what my path will be... I foresee two, possibly three options.
1. Finish my course with my Bachelor degree and go back into the workforce, with the intention of shifting to the states in 6 months or so.
2. Continue on to do postgraduate level study while continuing to work within constraints of my university workload - means remaining in uni for another 12 months.
3. Find work in the USA and continue on to postgraduate level study via correspondence, shifting to the states and getting my degree sent to me when I am done (Means I will not be able to attend graduation)
Doing the Masters level degree is by no means CRITICAL, but it would be nice to have the qualifications if I ever decided to teach at secondary or tertiary level myself, plus it might get me a foot in the door at some larger firms.
Kiss of the Enchantress hisses eerily, "Let them fear, and despair."
I built a fire and drank beer all last night. I woke up at dawn -- on my back porch! -- but still made it to work on time. I didn't get a shower though, so receptionist is wandering around the office sniffing, claiming she smells smoke. I'm going to wait for her to follow her nose to my office before giving her the clue.
Furthermore: The Kommie Pig just drove into our lot. I was thinking of buying that ranch in Monterey, but I guess I'll setting for a sandwich from the roach-coach. http://www.kommiepig.com/
I wonder if I'm the only one who knows the name is a pun?
Cheers and thanks for delightful days when you think you still have another two weeks worth of work ahead of you, only to discover everything is done at 1330. B.A., I love it when a plan comes together.
I managed to both read my speech AND sing a song at my Pop's funeral without incident, only finally breaking down afterwards. Quite proud of myself for keeping it together.

Know what's better than seeing the new Avengers movie opening weekend? Seeing it the night some fellows engage in fisticuffs and the kiddies have their prom. 8pm showtime, theater had maybe one hundred people in it.

Everiine is a man, and is very manly. This MAN before you is so manly you might as well just gender bend right now, cause he's the manliest man that you ever did see. His manly shape has spurned many women and girlyer men to boughs of fainting. He stands before you in a manly manerific typical man-like outfit which is covered in his manly motto: "I am a man!"

Andy Serkis speaking in a South African accent. He actually got it right. Actors never get it right!
