Very thankful, and excited to help out Glomdoring Library. Come one, come all writers, bring your things to me! Thanks to the Glomdoring court for have confidence in me.
The apple is cold, crisp, and sour as the juices fill your mouth. As you consume the fruit, you glimpse, for a moment, a massive, shadowy figure, Her snow-white hair framing a perfect, icy-eyed visage. Beneath you, a vast, perfect web of silken strands lies - and, for a moment, you realize that you too are part of it, weaver and strand both - and home.
The Halli-Gaudi power couple alliance should totally happen. Make the hatred a weapon of destruction for the rest of the basin.

RP so heartbreaking you cry IRL .
Everiine is a man, and is very manly. This MAN before you is so manly you might as well just gender bend right now, cause he's the manliest man that you ever did see. His manly shape has spurned many women and girlyer men to boughs of fainting. He stands before you in a manly manerific typical man-like outfit which is covered in his manly motto: "I am a man!"

To whoever deleted Glomdoring's library publishing and reward recording projects, I WILL FIND YOU AND I WILL END YOU. Those projects contained real life years worth of records which I'm unsure if they could ever be retrieved. Not. Happy. At. All. Help me, because if I found out that this was done in malice and not in error, I will raise hell. :S Not amused. This was the work and combined effort of several people, mind you. GONE. ALL GONE.

Learn to make three copies of everything. For real.
An experience in Hallifax (of someone replacing every instance Tulemrah's name with 'stupid whore' or something similar in every city project) taught me this lesson. People are dicks. Always have backups.

This is the first time I came across this problem in all my years of playing. I'm surprised and aghast to learn that, honestly. That's immature. :S I knew something was wrong when PROJECTS IN GLOMDORING was shorter than what it usually was(and I've been skimming over the results of this lookup for the past few days). We only just noticed now after the appointment of Salome as librarian and we couldn't find the projects I was looking for.
I'll start making backups of all the CHELPS, GHELPS and OHELPS now just in case.

I have a creeping dread that some rogue stage manager is going to delete all the productions. Are there any safeguards against that kind of thing, or is the advice just "appoint trustworthy managers" ?

Considering the elder ravenwood situation that's been happening? You shouldn't be surprised at people being that childish, no.

Do you not have a copy of it in your logs somewhere that you could use to at least partially if not mostly salvage it? Surely you must have at least READ the scrolls at least once after making them...

If you put it that way, I guess you've the right of it. I guess we should lower our expectations of people in general!

After some investigating, we found out that the projects have been missing for some months now. Project 185(which is the MOST important of the bunch as it records library activity since 2009-2010, well at least from when I first initiated the project some years back) has been missing since 2/12/2015. I vaguely recall raving about the scroll back in January and I really hope I posted the entire thing in raves.
Viravain, Lady of the Thorns shouts, "And You would seize Me? Fool! I am the Glomdoring! I am the Wyrd, and beneath the cloak of Night, the shadows of the Silent stir!"
This is the only copy left(that I can at least access at the time being, barring my hope that the admins can somehow dig it up). This was a post in raves back in 2014. I guess this is better than starting all over. We can just backtrack the entire thing:
I get warm fuzzy feelings each time I look at this pet project. It's still being used up to now! Shows how much the Glomdoring library has grown. Woo! Raves to @Iorwen and @Tacita and all the library aides!
Viravain, Lady of the Thorns shouts, "And You would seize Me? Fool! I am the Glomdoring! I am the Wyrd, and beneath the cloak of Night, the shadows of the Silent stir!"
Not to play devil's advocate here, but, why was it necessary/important? It seems to me that the project itself was record keeping for the sake of record keeping. I understand the sentimentality for it, just not the utility of it.
The basic problem is that books are easily forgotten, walled away in the Library among countless others, where most players don't really have a compelling reason to wander. Public records praising the successes of org writers, and helping to pick their books up out of the murky shelves of the Library help. We tried to start a 'literacy program' a few librarians back, offering copies of award winning books by commune members to commune members (With a kickback to the author) to try and combat this problem, but it didn't get off the ground.

I won prestige and all I got was 8000 gold?!?! Scandal. I deserve bonus credits simply for the shock value of me writing a book that managed to win something.
Edit: it doesn't even give me credit for winning! Librarian scam artists! Oppressing the poor PKers with your record keeping!

From the list, it looks like you were just submitted but didn't actually win? Winning should give you an honours line (this would be your 'credit for winning' and bragging rights).
That said, just write PK books!

Psh my play won prestige and I gots nothing from Gaudiguch
True fact: Gaudiguch's terrible culture payments are the reason my alt there withered and died. Portius gots to buy his artifact vials and lessons somehow.
Come to Hallifax, the librarian wrote the library's payment system to serve his own self-interest. Also half of our guilds pay for culture on top of the city credits.
Any sufficiently advanced pun is indistinguishable from comedy.
Actually, it's more that our librarians/Culture ministers tend to go inactive soon after being appointed and we rarely notice our wins because of this.
Everiine said: The reason population is low isn't because there are too many orgs. It's because so many facets of the game are outright broken and protected by those who benefit from it being that way. An overabundance of gimmicks (including game-breaking ones), artifacts that destroy any concept of balance, blatant pay-to-win features, and an obsession with convenience that makes few things actually worthwhile all contribute to the game's sad decline.

It's not really just sentimentality here, @Astraea. At some point, the rewards were updated to include credits and Tacita backtracked and awarded credits to people who won prestige. Also, @Celina, you posted about not receiving credits and not being recorded as having won prestige back in 2014(when I originally posted the quote), which I'm sure Tacita addressed and had the project updated. See how keeping a record is important?
Edit:
As it stands, with the rewards updated sometime in the last few months, it'd be next to impossible who got what, but eh. We will rebuild.
And backups will be kept.
edit: project new in glomdoring named Library Rewards Project #185 has been created in group glomdoring.
This stings. It got assigned the same number, too. :S
@Ieptix, thanks for checking. We'll just rebuild from what we have.
PS.
The whole elder ravenwood situation? Terribly puerile. Gotta commend the guy though, that's some spite-induced e-dedication, though. Now, if only that energy was channeled into something productive.
