Have any of you altaholics ended up actually becoming your own grandpa?
Not exactly, but the following three paragraphs are all true.
One of my characters was at one point married to someone whose player also played the spouse's grandparent.
Long before Pesukaru (me) and Shulamit were married, she had an alt that became Pesu's protege, and I had an alt that became Shulamit's protege, and we didn't know until irl years later.
There is another prolithic alter in the game who my characters often marry. We are good friends irl, and it's just convenient. We even started a family in Gaudi once to try and get a historical family going, but it didn't work out.

Open question to the others in this. Your org blows up tomorrow and isn't coming back, ever.
Where do you relocate to in game (or choose to stay rogue) and why?
Saran would probably try to bring Ackleberry back and should it become obvious that it's not going to happen, probably go to Glomdoring.
It would also be far from the first time the question has popped up for him really. If Glomdoring were the cause, then there would be the question of what point is there in resisting any more and they're likely able to wipe out some of the cities. If something else was responsible then it'd come back to protecting nature, that Serenwilde was ultimately deluded in thinking they could do anything but if Glomdoring survived then it's time to accept they're right.

Spend 23 hours convincing myself I really can do this, 45 minutes panicking that I don't have the time to do this, and 15 minutes hastily assembling something that comes in late anyway.
Mayor Steingrim, the Grand Schema says to you, "Well, as I recall you kinda leave a mark whereever you go."
@Phoebus, when you founded the Skyplume family, what was your rationale behind choosing Windwhisper as the historical family over the others?
Well. I didn't really have any ambitions when I first got roped into founding the Skyplumes; I was a very new player and sort of just along for the ride. Then at one point my co-founder and the initial main driving force behind the family mentioned wanting Skysoarer or Silverplume mainly because they had Sky- or -plume in their names. I thought this was an extremely silly thing to base what historical family you wanted on, to put it politely.
No, it wouldn't do at all. If we were going to be historical, it had to be as the right family, for the right reasons.
I campaigned for Windwhisper because we were certainly going to go for a Master Artist family, and of the bunch, Miella Windwhisper just...stands out. She's definitely still a snooty high society lady, but she's nice about it instead of giving you withering glares and calling you a filthy peasant, and that angle was the the most natural fit for the easygoing Skyplumes. It felt like something that worked, something we could work with and frame ourselves as being a part of. I pushed for it hard, but I don't think Mirai ever liked it. We kinda disagreed on a lot of stuff once I'd been playing long enough to actually have opinions.
But then she left, so myhousemyrules, Windwhisper. I love it and I can't imagine being anyone else.

Spend a little bit of time being upset that I can't add a god to Serenwilde, and then immediately work on a god concept.
Probably something like... Elostian's sacrifice might have coalesced into something that's godlike in power but it doesn't manifest the same way, maybe some kind of divine AI.

Less boring @AllMortals questions and more questions directed at specific people!
Everiine is a man, and is very manly. This MAN before you is so manly you might as well just gender bend right now, cause he's the manliest man that you ever did see. His manly shape has spurned many women and girlyer men to boughs of fainting. He stands before you in a manly manerific typical man-like outfit which is covered in his manly motto: "I am a man!"

Being the wrong race aside, the Shevat family was claimed instantly; it was never an option for anyone but Shavatt. I mean...their intentions were extremely clear. That name. SO presumptuous! :P

What's the story behind @Everiine's issues with Mother Moon?
Everiine doesn't have any issues with Mother Moon, per se. As a Serenguard, he tries to revere both parts of the Moon-and-Hart the same, even if he feels slightly more drawn to Hart. There was also some tension between Ev and @Lisaera for a time, which probably contributed to his perceived aloofness toward Moon.
Usually this question is asked related to his decision not to be a Moonchilde. And quite simply, that's because at the time he saw making that choice as favouring Moon over Hart, since there was no equivalent devotion he could show at the time. So he's not a Moonchilde. He just gets tired of explaining himself, so when people ask, he tells them it's long and complicated and none of their business.
And remember, Ev's One True Mate is a Moondancer, a former High Priestess and High Wisdom. They frequently go on "dates" to dance in the Moon Bubble, and his manse has always been lit by the light of the full moon.

That's anti-climactic. Here I've been avoiding you for years because of a thing where the response felt... not hostile, exactly, but frigid. Got pounced by three people for something along the lines of "Just drop it! It'll lead to a fight." Or some such. I then figured Ev just doesn't like Moon people or something, and left it be.

Have any of you altaholics ended up actually becoming your own grandpa?
I refuse to answer on the grounds that I may incriminate myself.
Just kidding.
I'm my own aunt, sister, great-aunt, and also my own step-grandmother (all different characters). Have previously been my own stepmother, unintentionally. No direct lines up and down yet. Though Tamsin was thinking about being adopted by someone which would make me my own great-grandmother.
Edit: I lied. I am my own great-great-great-grandmother one time. I forgot that one character might have ties I'd forgotten.
Edit2: I was also my stepmother, and my aunt, two other ways that I forgot about. Yeesh.
I have never become my own grandpa, but one of my characters is going to be the child of one of my character's nephews, though in different families. And I don't play the other character anymore, really.

I'm really bad at coming up with like, ephemeral ideas? But if I had the chance to be any God, I'd probably want to try to be Grunella, Malmydia or Gheasia. Unfortunately, because I play in Gaudiguch/Magnagora a lot, those would probably not work.
I'd probably politely decline, though. I'm not ready to leave my mortals behind.

Heh, I never said it would be interesting . But Ev's "Just drop it" response is his go-to, because if he tries to explain his choice, he usually gets "scolded" by the other person, who won't let it go. So he just cuts off the conversation before it can even begin.

@Shaddus what was your favourite Fain ritual to do? What is your favourite part of his temple?
As to your question, I've always wanted to toy with the concept of a rogue god that anyone could follow, maybe something to do with mannequins. I'm not sure why, but I feel like this god would try to get pulled at actively by all the active Divine to associate with their city, and there would always be Shennanigans or opposing Divine to dissuade/stop it from happening. Maybe some neato artefact he has.
@Breandryn how do you manage to be so whimsical? All my characters who try that get bogged down by something happening that is suddenly Heavy and ruins their outlook on life. Except Fawn. He's my favourite (excluding Trem).
@Breandryn asked: Why won't Daraius craft for Gaudiguchians?
He will, but he charges double! He even inked some tats for a Gaudiguch guild leader. Unfortunately, Gaudiguchians are prohibited from entering Hallifax-connected manses, so you'd need an escort to buy from Erudio Papercrafts.
@Nelras asked: Given the detailed backstory you have as Daraius, could I ask how much of that was planned beforehand vs how much developed in game?
I did very little planning before rolling Daraius. I knew I wanted to play a loboshigaru (due to the law of the universe that states "Daraius will play a dog man in any game that allows characters to be dog men"), and I wanted to play in Hallifax, and I decided his number one quality would be sincerity. I discovered after a while that I really hated being an Aeromancer so I RP'd a whole scenario to justify becoming a monk (which obviously had an enormous impact on the character), but everything else developed more or less organically through interactions with other characters, gods, and NPC's.
@Thax asked: As Hallifax's most notable agnostic, is there a specific design for your character in regard to divine beliefs?
Daraius believes the Collective is the greatest accomplishment of all time, and that it came to be in the absence of any divine guidance or intervention, and that it will ultimately subsume and outlast all mortal and divine life. For all intents and purposes, the Collective is his god. This view gives him a fairly indifferent view towards most Elders, who tend to be more concerned with Their squabbles than directly serving the Collective, but he also recognizes that some citizens are inspired to do good work by their service to their patrons, so he doesn't dismiss Them altogether. When gods start bending Hallifaxian laws, or when ephemerals start vandalizing municiple property, Daraius gets a little less tolerant.
@Breandryn asked: Guys, we messed up at Ascension. The Soulless are coming and we're pretty much doomed. How does your character spend their final day of existence?
Hosting a tea party at the Infinity Circuit with the expectation of joining the Eternal Collective and outliving the apocalypse.
@Karlach asked: Your org blows up tomorrow and isn't coming back, ever. Where do you relocate to in game (or choose to stay rogue) and why?
This happened to Hallifax one time. As predicted by Falmiis, Daraius would absolutely go full Toshan (after a crushing psychological breakdown).
@everyone - Guys, we messed up at Ascension. The Soulless are coming and we're pretty much doomed. How does your character spend their final day of existence?
Probably doing everything he can to try to salvage/protect even the smallest part of Serenwilde, and if he perma-dies then just getting up and continuing to do so

K, revising my answer. Not moving to a Toshan convent, sry bb. Time to embrace my true feels and join Magnagora and be the Drocillan I always knew I could be. \o/

Defying all logic and reason, Squibbles the Hamster would ascend to true Divine status as an unaligned god, spreading mischief and chaos as easily as dander.
Breandryn, have you made socks for every Divine active in the game?
So far, I've made socks for: Mysrai, Ashtariel, Zvoltz, Everiine, Morgfyre/Lavinya, Steingrim, the chaos hamster, the Soulless, and Malarious's mount Pestilence
Breandryn how do you manage to be so whimsical? All my characters who try that get bogged down by something happening that is suddenly Heavy and ruins their outlook on life. Except Fawn. He's my favourite (excluding Trem).
I started Breandryn off as fairly optimistic and whimsical, and have had her life experiences shape how that personality develops. I have no idea if she'll stay this way or if she'll become a bitter mass murderer - depends on the experiences she has! I will say that she's not as whimsical as she seems, but she's a bit reticent and insecure about her darker emotions and failings so they rarely come across in public except as shyness or uncertainty and there are certain things she avoids doing. Also, she's completely different on hard drugs, but so far that's only been used during the Paragon ritual.
@Breandryn once upon a time Tremula was an illuminatus! She's always loved the heat of the city, and after spending so long above the ground and in the wind and cold, it seemed a welcome change. She would have gone back to Magnagora, but she's at a point in her life where she wants to take things easy, and Gaudiguch (at the time) seemed the best way to do that, from stereotypical views and her previous experience. Also, Tremula has a HUGE crush on Sebitti and is still waiting to find her hiding in some nook or cranny around the city.
From an ooc stand-point there's a lot of investment in the character but also the friendships that I've made through the game have helped me get through a lot of stuff. They may not know, but @Barrin, @Astrasia, @Kalodan, and so many others really helped when I was like... coming to terms with being gay or when I've been going through depression. On that level it's been this place that I can come back to at any time and I can escape or talk or whatever I've needed.
On a lighter tone, I also enjoy various aspects of the lore, though there's bits that frustrate me heh. The Hartstone was home for the longest time, I have multiple folders on my google drive filled with stuff for them from advancement systems, to expansions and rituals, etc.
It's probably one of the only places I've felt enables a Primal Wild sort of play. In WoD games... I really like Changeling and Werewolf along with Thyrsus and Acanthus mages which feel like they can be seen to varying degrees in Serenwilde, in DnD I tend to play a Druid (even had long term plans in Council of Thieves to tear down the city).
I guess I also feel like Saran is a bit more interesting, to me at least, than fresh characters because there is so much history there. He started out very "spring" and "maiden", rather gigglingly tending to the forest and now he's the kinda emotionally restrained elder though that's also changing over time.
He changed, he's grown, he's repeated certain things, there's just... so many memories to draw on when doing something. And there's something fun about the "Elder" roleplay and having a nice knowledge/rp base that's kinda hard to replicate without more years of building up a new character.
I also like to write, while it might not translate into books. Things like developing the Strongleaf history (I may have overwritten... a lot... so much unnecessary stuff >_>) are really enjoyable to me. So while the Hartstone are going away, I'm looking forward to the fun of getting to flesh out the new factions when they come.
I feel like there's other, more nebulous things, but the lore and the people are the two at the top of the list.
